DESCRIPTION:Glam it up and kick off the holidays in style with the incredible jazz talent Deborah Winters and a spectacular line-up of musicians! This years 6th annual holiday concert with the Peter Welker All Star Big Band will feature some fabulous new faces including world renowned pianist Laurence Hobgood coming out from New York City\, Steve Steinberg on tenor sax\, lead trumpet player Niel Levonius and drummer Todd Tribble. Rounding out this amazing band will be alto saxophonist Charlie McCarthy\, baritone saxophonist Aaron Lington\, guitarist Randy Vincent and bassist Chris Amberger.  Mr. Hobgood has won a Grammy and been nominated for 9 more while serving as Kurt Elling’s pianist and Music Director for 20 years. \nABOUT DEBORAH WINTERS\nA Bay area native and longtime favorite among jazz-savvy San Franciscans\, “Ms. Winters is about as polished as jazz vocalists come with a refreshingly free interpretation that is superbly polished and elegant”\, as quoted by Jazz Times magazine. She began her career over two decades ago with her guitar and original songs which led to her first release\, “Live in Session” with acclaimed pianist/arranger Frank Martin\, followed by the CD\, “Inspired” with the award winning producer/arranger\, Gary Malkin.  In her latest release\, “Lovers After All”\, she signed with the Jazzed Media label and joined forces with trumpeter/arranger/producer Peter Welker which included a stellar cast of jazz luminaries from SF\, Boston\, New York and LA. This lofty big-band excursion showcases Deborah’s extraordinary versatility and her trademark feeling of intimacy.  Variety and passion continue to characterize her on-going performance schedule\, including her reputation as a voice coach\, where she was voted in the top three Best Vocal Coach category from the Pacific Suns Best of Marin. \n  \n  \n
