SUMMARY:February 2016 Art Exhibit Artist Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for First Tuesday Art Walk and Artist Reception for artist Ellen Litwiller from 5-7pm tonight! \nArtist Statement \nThis project was inspired by Galileo Galilei\, when in January of 1610 he explored the night sky with a home made telescope and observed small objects orbiting another planet. Galileo’s discovery changed the way we perceive ourselves in relation to the universe and we were moved to reconsider our place at the center of things. Astronomy has its roots in our own prehistoric times and the night sky has long been used to help find our location on the planet. But today we more often turn downward toward our technological devices to tell us where we are. Perhaps by not being as aware of the night sky we have lost our humbling sense of place\, of being such a small entity within a vastly larger space.  Ellen Litwiller \n
