SUMMARY:First Tuesday ArtWalk & Artist Reception
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us on September 11th between 5:00pm and 7:00pm for an Artist Reception and Mill Valley’s First Tuesday ArtWalk featuring our September art exhibits: “This is the End (of Summer)” by Paul Goldman and “Nature Speaks” by Mary Greenberg. \n  \nABOUT THE ART EXHIBITS \nPaul Goldman\, “This is the End (of Summer)”\nTheatre Gallery\nArtist Statement\nI am mostly self-taught\, but have taken painting courses at the Cleveland Museum of Art\, the Massachusetts College of Art\, and the San Francisco Art Institute. Most of my work now is done on board\, incorporating different styles and subject matter. I mainly focus on creating visually compelling works without really thinking about meaning too much. It’s only after I’ve accomplished the former that my mind turns to the latter. My work seems to have a somewhat nostalgic suburban theme to it coupled with apocalyptic overtones. I’m a big fan of the Bay Area Figurative Art movement and I think that has had an obvious influence on my work. \nFeatured Artwork (left): “Nine”\, 30″x40″\, acrylic on board \n\nMary Greenberg\, “Nature Speaks”\nCrescendo Gallery\nArtist Biography\nMary began her painting career in Detroit\, Michigan. She has studied at the prestigious Jean Henry School of Impressionist Art in San Francisco\, also with Jerry Stitt\, renowned American Watercolor Society member and currently paints with award-winning artist Carol Myer in Novato\, California. Mary’s work has been featured in galleries in Houston and throughout the Bay Area. Collectors of Mary’s paintings reside in California as well as throughout the United States\, Tahiti\, and France. \nRecent work in watercolor and acrylic reflect the serenity\, beauty\, and inspiration the artist finds in nature whether in Marin County or around the globe. \n10% of sales will be donated to the Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation. \nFeatured Artwork (right): “For You”\, Acrylic\, 16″x 24″ \n
