DESCRIPTION:This Sunday Sessions Pro Showcase will feature guitar virtuoso Jinx Jones.  Join us for a spirited and musically uplifting evening in the Throckmorton’s intimate Tivoli room. No cover – all ages welcome. \nSunday Sessions are sponsored by the Throckmorton Theatre. Donations are welcomed at the door and greatly appreciated.  \nABOUT JINX JONES\nIn Jinx Jones’ impressive musical career he has visited nearly every conceivable style and genre of the electric guitar. From his work with R&B divas\, En Vogue to his own acclaimed rockabilly albums\, “License to Twang\,” and the latest release; “Rumble & Twang\,” Jones has always strived to expand the possibilities of the instrument. He accepts every musical challenge head on\, always making an impressive statement with his music. The one thing that remains consistent throughout Jones’ multi-stylistic journey is the grace and finesse of his virtuoso playing. \nJones honed his musical skills on the burgeoning Denver original music scene of the 1970’s and 1980’s. With brief stints in both Los Angeles and Houston\, Jones’ studied music in concert halls\, nightclubs\, and theaters throughout the United States. \nDuring his career he has lent his guitar-playing prowess to many artists and groups. During the Summer of 1976\, Jones supplied backing guitar to the King of Rock and Soul\, Solomon Burke and soul-singer Howard Bomar. He joined the popular doo-wop show band\, Tom Slick in 1978 and he performed with Rock n’ Roll legend Chuck Berry on and off for nearly 10 years. Jones has also played with American guitar legend Roy Buchanan and R&B superstars En Vogue (on their triple platinum album “Funky Divas” and on their signature hit “Free Your Mind”). \n \nABOUT SUNDAY SESSIONS PRO SHOWCASE & KIMREA\nSunday Sessions Pro Showcase invites some of the Bay Area’s unsung working musicians to showcase their talent. These musicians form the backbone of the Bay Area music scene and are established Bay Area performers\, session players\, sidemen and undiscovered talent. Come check out these complimentary concerts and discover real talent! \nKimrea\, a prolifically active songwriter and performing musician\, taps the talent for these Sunday Sessions\, as well as the supporting musicians. She and her band continue to play regularly in the Bay Area and can be found every Monday Night (For the Last 14 years and counting) performing at the Historic No Name Bar in Sausalito\, California. \n
