She has a class of private cello students\, teaching cello and chamber music in San Francisco and Davis\, California. Prior to moving to San Francisco\, Sarah lived in New York City where she was involved in the freelance scene\, working as a cellist with some of the city’s top ensembles. Sarah played her debut recital in Carnegie Recital Hall in 1991 as an Artist International Winner. \nIn San Francisco\, ensembles Sarah has performed and toured with include Philharmonia Baroque\, Empyrean Ensemble\, the San Francisco Ballet and the San Francisco Symphony. For five seasons\, she held the tenured position of Principal Cellist with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.  Sarah is the founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Phoenix\, formerly Trio Phoenix. \nSarah has participated in numerous summer music festivals – Spoleto\, Telluride\, and Mendocino Music Festival and many others. Sarah received her Bachelor of Music from Indiana University School of Music where she studied with Janos Starker and a Master of Music from the University of Illinois. \nClarinetist Tom Rose studied music at San Francisco State University and Mills College\, Oakland. He has held the position of Principal Clarinetist and Soloist with Music in the Mountains Festival\, Grass Valley\, CA\, since its founding\, in 1982. From 1988 to 2010 he served as Personnel Manager and extra clarinetist for the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. Mr. Rose is also an adjunct clarinet teacher at Holy Names University\, Oakland. In 2004 he and Miles Graber released their first CD\, Music for Clarinet and Piano. Their second CD in this series was released in January 2016. Rose was a performing artist at the Yachats Music Festival\, in Yachats\, Oregon from 2014 to 2016 and is a frequent performer on Four Seasons Arts concerts. He is a founding member of the Bay Trio (cello\, piano\, and clarinet). \nMiles Graber received his musical training on piano at the Juilliard School. He has performed with numerous artists\, including Sarah Chang\, Cho-Liang Lin\, Camilla Wicks\, Axel Strauss\, Mimi Stillman\, Paula Robison\, Zuill Bailey\, Judith LeClair\, and Frederica von Stade. Mr. Graber has been associated with such organizations as New Century Chamber Orchestra\, Midsummer Mozart\, Berkeley Opera\, Opera San Jose\, and California Symphony. His accompanying posts include the San Francisco Conservatory of Music\, the San Domenico Conservatory\, the Irving M. Klein International String Competition\, the Summer Brass Institute\, the Mondavi Young Artist Competition\, and Northern California Flute Camp. He is a member of the Alcyone Ensemble\, MusicAEterna\, the Graham-Graber-Rose Trio\, the Sor Ensemble\, the Mira Trio\, and the new music group Sounds New. \nABOUT NOON CONCERTS  Every Wednesday\, for the past 7 years we have offered complimentary classical concerts featuring renowned musicians from around the world.  The Wednesday concert series has become a special place where community and friends can gather for the love of live music and discover something new and beautiful each and every week.  We want to offer the inspiration of live music to every community member\, regardless of financial ability – so we offer these concerts free of charge to the public. Concerts are approximately an hour long take place in the Tivoli room\, where both the audience and musicians can sit in close proximity\, creating an intimate concert setting.  Please take a look at our calendar of these special events and join us! \nBENI SHINOHARA\, NOON CONCERTS PROGRAM DIRECTOR  A native of Nagoya\, Japan\, Beni Shinohara was educated at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music\, where she studied violin with Yoshio Unno and Tatsuo Uzuka. She also studied extensively in Europe with Sandor Vegh and in the United States with Ruben Gonzalez\, Sergiu Luca\, Fredel Lack\, and Kenneth Goldsmith.  Ms. Shinohara has been Assistant Concertmaster of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra since 1990. In addition\, she has appeared as a soloist with Tokyo’s Metropolitan Symphony and IMAS Symphony Orchestra\, the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra\, and the Houston Ballet Orchestra.  In 1988\, she joined the San Francisco Opera Orchestra where she holds the position of Assistant Principal Second Violin.  Currently\, she also performs with many bay area chamber ensembles such as Marin Chamber Players\, Gold Coast Chamber Players and the San Francisco Trio. \nHonors include First Prize in the Tokyo Metropolitan Young Artist Competition and the “Concert Ami” Concours. She was a finalist in the Viotti International Competition and appeared in the Carnegie Hall International American Music Competition. Furthermore\, Ms. Shinohara has premiered numerous twentieth-century Japanese composers’ works\, participating in the “Music Today” Concert Series under the direction of Toru Takemitsu and the Gen-On Contemporary Composers Music Festival in Tokyo. She performed the world premiere of Bay Area composer Charles Shere’s Violin Concerto with the Cabrillo Music Festival Orchestra.  Ms. Shinohara was a faculty member at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She is currently a co-director of the Sonoma State University String Orchestra. \nShe is a board member of Throckmorton Theatre and makes her home in Mill Valley with her husband Katsuto\, their children Yuma and Reina\, and their Flat-Coated Retriever\, Chase. \n
