This dynamic jazz music is exactly what love sounds like! \nMusician Bio\nRichard Howell’s music celebrates diversity as it bridges\, unites and merges the experience of all listeners. Howell defines his music as “Bridge Music\,” a musical pathway over obstacles that joins differences\, equalizes a potential\, closes our divide and links us through sonic connection. Steeped in the spirit of John Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’ the contradiction of James Brown’s simplistic yet complicated African rhythmic concepts joined with the “for the love of you” deep soulfulness of the Isley Brothers\, this music will be felt. \nRichard Howell has performed with numerous pop\, soul\, and jazz music industry icons on stages across the globe\, from the Zellerbach Hall to the Royal Albert Hall. Howell has worked and recorded with legends such as Etta James\, Chaka Khan\, and Maurice White\, as well as with new voices of jazz such as Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah. \nHowell lectures Jazz History with JazzTree Education internationally and is an intricate part of Oaktown Jazz Workshops. He is the leader of two extremely powerful Jazz ensembles\, RHQuartet and Richard Howell and Sudden Changes. \n
