SUMMARY:StoryNights presents Doug Cordell\, Corey Rosen\, Kari Kiernan\, David Nihill\, Jon Lehre & Drew Harmon
DESCRIPTION:StoryNights host\, David Nihill (Founder of FunnyBizz) and world-class storytellers perform 10 minute true stories. Tonight Nihill is joined by storytellers Doug Cordell\, Corey Rosen\, Kari Kiernan\, Jon Lehre and Drew Harmon.  \nAt StoryNights\, talented performers\, actors\, comics and writers take to the mic for a night of personal stories told live. Sometimes touching\, sometimes inspiring\, sometimes embarrassing but always real; these stories won’t shy away from true grit. \nTHE STORYTELLERS\nDoug Cordell\n\nDoug Cordell is a comedic storyteller and performer\, NPR radio essayist and Emmy-nominated writer. His true-life radio stories air on NPR’s Snap Judgment\, APM’s Marketplace and WLRN’s The Public Storyteller. He has been featured at theaters and clubs across the U.S. and abroad\, and has ledworkshops on story\, narrative and performance in New York City\, Los Angeles\, San Francisco and Marrakesh\, Morocco. A member of the Writers Guild of America with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing from New York University\, his television credits include PBS\, Disney and Nickelodeon. \nCorey Rosen\n\nCorey Rosen is an actor\, writer and visual effects producer who lives in San Francisco. He is a regular host of The Moth StorySlam series in the Bay Area\, and his stories have been featured on The Moth Radio Hour. Corey began his career writing for Jim Henson Productions and Comedy Central in New York City. As an actor\, Corey can be see as a main stage company player at BATS Improv\, where he improvises feature length plays. Corey is the creator of The A**hole Monologues: A Comedy For Anyone Who Has One\, Knows One\, or Is One. As a computer graphics artist\, his film credits include Iron Man\, Grindhouse\, Ted\, and The Phantom Menace. He is currently writing the script for a ride-film at a Chinese Theme Park. \nKari Kiernan\n\nKari Kiernan is a writer and storyteller living in San Francisco. Her work has appeared in Skirt! Magazine and The Morning News as well as onstage at Porchlight\, The Vent\, Naked Truth and Opium Magazine’s Literary Death Match\, among others. She also has a dormant master’s degree and a day job. You can see more of her writing and performing on her blog: Cereal for Dinner Again (www.cerealfordinnneragain.com). And\, if you visit it regularly\, you can marvel at how rarely it is updated. It’ll be fun! \nJon Lehre\n\nJon Lehre is a stand-up comedian and Moth winning storyteller who recently performed in The San Francisco Moth GrandSLAM at the 1\,400 seater Castro Theatre. When not performing throughout the Bay Area\, Jon produces a popular open mic in Sebastopol and a plucky little comedy show in Rohnert Park every month. \nDrew Harmon\n\nDrew Harmon is a comedian and former TV weatherman in San Francisco. Drew started doing stand-up in Michigan before he moved to San Francisco for easy access to burritos and great clubs like the Punch Line and Doc’s Lab where he’s a regular onstage. Drew has also been a part of comedy festivals like SF Sketchfest\, Gilda’s Laughfest and Laugh Your Asheville Off. Drew created and hosts the popular show “I Think I’d Be Good At That” where a person who has never done standup before headlines a comedy show for their very first set. \nDavid Nihill \n\nLeaving Dublin\, Ireland\, where he was born and raised until the age of 22\, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit the sobriety of it. A bestselling author\, David has been featured in Inc\, NPR\, Huffington Post\, Forbes\, Lifehacker and the Irish Times\, and was recently part of the Irish Kings of Comedy Tour\, SF Sketchfest\, the Ventura Comedy Festival\, Ukiah Comedy Alley\, and the Kansas City Irish Festival. A multiple Moth Storyslam winner\, Grandslam finalist and occasional host David has also told tales at Porchlight\, The Naked Truth\, Fireside and Litquake. Always a funny storyteller\, these days he calls San Francisco home when immigration officials permit. \n
