She will be backed by the masterful musicianship of Herman Eberitzsch on keys\, Joe Lococo on guitar and Marlon Green on drums. \nJoin us for a fun and musically satisfying afternoon in the wonderfully acoustic Tivoli room Come listen and discover the beauty of music in an intimate accessible setting. No cover – all ages welcome – a one beverage purchase requested. \n\nABOUT JOYCE GRANT \nJoyce Grant singer/songwriter\, determined at an early age that she was going to be a singer and spent her elementary and high school days performing in choir and musical theater.  She  is the great-great-niece of famed ragtime composer Scott Joplin. City Swing started a new chapter in 2007 with jazz singer Joyce Grant. Grant has been singing jazz in Bay Area venues for over 20 years. A mezzo-soprano with a voice like dark honey\, Grant has a performance resume which includes a wide range of venues including the Empire Plush Room and Zingari Ristaurante in San Francisco\, the Ledson Hotel in Sonoma\, Sam’s Chowder House & Cetrella in Half Moon Bay\, the Liberty Hotel in Pittsburg as-well-as the Pittsburg Yacht Club\, Slates in Walnut Creek\, Joe’s of Lafayette\, and the Woodminster Amphitheater. She is one of the featured artist for the “Delta Jazz Society” and a member of the Vallejo Jazz Society. Born in Texarkana\, the town where Scott Joplin was raised\, Grant moved to Oakland as a child where she started singing with the North Oakland Baptist Church Youth Choir. Since that time she has earned the respect of singers and musicians alike performing professionally in San Francisco\, the East Bay\, Walnut Creek\, Napa Valley and beyond. Her unique shows consist of a blend of jazz\, blues\, country western\, Rhythm and Blues\, and funk. Her vocal interpretations range from sensitive to powerful to cheeky over a broad spectrum of charts. Joyce Grant is a member of ASCAP. \n\nKIMREA’S PRO SHOWCASE \nFor these Sunday Sessions we invite some of the Bay Area unsung working musicians to join us for our Pro Showcase and showcase their talent.  These musicians form the backbone of the Bay Area music scene and are established Bay Area performers\, session players\, sidemen and undiscovered talent!  Come for some fabulous music and discover real talent! \nKimrea\, a prolifically active songwriter and performing musician\, taps the talent for these Sunday Sessions\, as well as the supporting musicians. She and her band continue to play regularly in the Bay Area and can be found every Monday Night (For the Last 14 years and counting) performing at the Historic No Name Bar in Sausalito\, California. \nThere is an incredible wealth of talent who make their home right here in the Bay Area. Our Sunday Sessions invite performers in to share their talents and our community in to enjoy and be inspired!  \nWe pay a small stipend to performers\, donations to support these events are gratefully accepted. \nThe Throckmorton is dedicated to the inclusion of all members of our diverse community; every member is entitled to be exposed to thought-provoking\, multicultural events. \n
