SUMMARY:Sunday Sessions Songwriter's Circle with Pat Nevins\, Max Newton\, Anita Sandwina & Harri Wolf
DESCRIPTION:\nThrockmorton Theatre’s Songwriter’s Circle provides members of some of the most popular local bands with an outlet for creative expression; musicians are able to focus on their songwriting in an intimate space and the community is invited to share in the creative process. Singer/Songwriter Dore Coller is spearheading these sessions which highlight some of the best tunesmiths around. \nMUSICIAN BIOS\n\n\nPat Nevins\n\n\nEast Bay based singer/songwriter Pat Nevins has built a solid resume in a variety of Bay Area music circles. He has performed as both a solo artist and band leader\, and is known for his heartfelt vocals and classic song selections. Nevins has a natural ability to connect with audiences of all ages. He has a deep appreciation for the music of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. His electric band Shakey Zimmerman recently performed a Bob Dylan birthday celebration show at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley\, and has played many top venues in California. Today Nevins performs his original songs composed over the years that stay true to his Folk and Americana musical roots. \nMax Newton\n\n\n\nMax started fumbling around on the guitar in 1967 and immediately began writing songs. Most of his songs tell stories\, some of which are almost true\, and include protagonists who could have made better choices. Many of his narrators are unreliable; the audience is encouraged to laugh at them and boo. Max likes that. He has been on the bill at The Freight & Salvage and at the Monkey House (both in Berkeley) and is a consistent winner at West Coast Songwriters events.  He’ll be at The Freight again later this summer with his band\, Max and the Mighty Demon Wranglers. \n\nAnita Sandwina\n\n\nAnita Bear Sandwina is a multi-instrumentalist Nor-Cal transplant. Her earthy\, rootsy style comes from childhood winters on plains of Iowa. She plays guitar\, banjo\, mandolin\, and fiddle for the Musers. Her award-winning songs make us laugh\, and invite us to discover our own inner landscape. It is an absolute delight to witness her performances. They are high energy\, heartfelt and\, punctuated by her dancing feet and childlike wonder. Many an observer has said she is a “compelling force of nature” on stage. She has spent many years honing her craft in bands\, most recently with Spark & Whisper and Sonoma County outfit\, The Musers. \n\nHarri Wolf\n\n\nHarri Wolf and his songwriting partner\, Michael RJ Roth are an award winning team\, having been honored by The Unisong International Song Contest\, The Dallas Songwriting Competition and American Songwriters Magazine. Early in his songwriting career\, Harri had co-written with A. Bouchard and S. Perlman for the Blue Oyster Cult (Redeemed) and Patti Smith (Leda and the Swan). He is currently a licensed Asian Body Therapist and Classical Homeopath\, serving the North Bay. Harri is bringing some of his collaborative and solo efforts to SSSC on July 8th.”\n\nABOUT SUNDAY SESSIONS\nThrockmorton Theatre’s Sunday Sessions offer the community the opportunity to discover artists and be inspired in an intimate and positive setting. To ensure accessibility\, we offer these sessions free of charge to the public. We greatly appreciate your help and support in making these programs possible – donations at the door are greatly appreciated. \nThrockmorton Theatre is committed to fostering community and providing accessible\, transforming experiences.  We believe the arts create and bestow community identity and a strong sense of identity and pride rallies confidence\, hope and productivity. \n
