It would be scary to miss this! \nTHE COMEDIANS\n\nBrian Copeland\nBrian Copeland is an award-winning actor\, comedian\, author\, playwright\, television and radio talk show host based in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a standup comedian\, Copeland has opened for such legendary performers as Smokey Robinson\, Aretha Franklin\, Dionne Warwick\, Ray Charles\, The Temptations\, Natalie Cole\, Julio Iglesias\, Ringo Starr and Gladys Knight. In 2004\, Copeland debuted his first one-man play\, Not a Genuine Black Man at the Marsh in San Francisco. This show went on to become the longest-running solo show in San Francisco theatrical history with over 800 performances. In 2006\, he published a best-selling book based on Genuine. To date\, Copeland has written and performed three subsequent critically acclaimed solo plays including The Waiting Period (2015 Theater Bay Area Award for Outstanding Production of a Solo Play)\, the hit Christmas show The Jewelry Box and The Scion (PBS affiliate KQED’s Best New Play of 2014). His new play\, Grandma & Me: An Ode to Single Parents\, debuts in San Francisco in the fall of 2017. In addition to his stage work\, Copeland is a fixture in Bay Area broadcasting\, where he has hosted programs on just about every television station\, including KTVU (a five-year stint as cohost of Mornings on 2)\, ABC7 (host of the Emmy award-winning 7Live) and KNTV (the hit 2015 late night special Now Brian Copeland). He has also performed on MTV\, A&E\, NBC\, VH1 and Comedy Central. \n\nDonald Lacy Jr.\nDonald Lacy is one of the funniest comedians in the country. He was the first runner-up in the “1993 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition”. He tours regularly across the U. S. and around the world as a headliner\, from Chicago\, to Kaiserslautern in Germany. He has been seen on BET’s “Comic View and on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam”. He has 2 comedy CD’s “Uncensored”\, & “Free Speech Costs Plenty” Mr. Lacy spent his Thanksgiving holiday in 2001 entertaining the troops abroad in a Far East tour that included; Japan\, Okinawa\, Korea\, Singapore\, & Diego Garcia. He returned on the same tour in 2004. \n\nClara Bijl\nBorn in Paris\, France\, Clara moved to New York City (she now resides in San Francisco) to begin a career in stand-up comedy. Performing all around the US and Europe\, she became a prolific writer of cutting\, witty\, internationally flavored comedy. Clara was a semifinalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition\, she performed in Holland’s “The Comedy Factory TV Show\,” the New York Underground Comedy Festival\, the Lausanne Comedy Festival\, the Detroit International Comedy Festival\, San Francisco Sketchfest\, the Montreaux Comedy Festival and was a writer for the hit Swiss TV show\, “Le Petit Silvant Illustré.” \n\nSean Finnerty\nAfter 21 years of “growing up” in Longford\, Ireland\, Sean Finnerty decided to move stateside where a series of mature decisions that he failed to make led him to stand up comedy. Sean first cut his teeth in the Orlando comedy scene and quickly learned that his no holds barred humor and charming accent were well received (when people could actually understand what he was saying). Selected for Comedy Central’s Up Next competition and as a semi-finalist in both the 2014 Florida’s Funniest Comedian Competition and the 2014 Charleston Comedy Festival\, Sean has been seen at comedy clubs and festivals across the Southeast\, including The Improv\, the Orlando Fringe Festival\, the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival\, and at Gringos Locos Tacos at 3 in the morning after a night out. Andre has been in numerous high profile comedy competitions\, including finalist rankings in competitions in the Bay Area and Seattle. He credits these competitions with for teaching him the ropes of comedy and he created The Central Valley Comedy Competition to afford aspiring comedians the same opportunity. Andre has appeared on MTV\, Comedy Central\, BET’s “Comic View”\, HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” and sitcom “Sister\, Sister.” \n\nMat Alano-Martin\nMat Alano-Martin comes to comedy from the world of rock and roll\, where he spent 10 years touring North America as a member of several unknown bands and as a tour manager for much more successful\, well known bands. With a comedic style that bridges the social and political views of his indie-rock background with the attitude and sensibilities of his rural and blue collar youth\, Alano-Martin has appeared at comedy clubs\, theaters\, punk rock dives\, redneck roadhouses\, casinos\, colleges\, living rooms and everywhere in between. Alano-Martin’s debut album “Profiled as Such” can be heard on the Sirius/XM Raw Dog comedy channel and he has appeared on the nationally syndicated The Bob & Tom Show. He has worked with such notable acts as Patton Oswalt\, Tig Notaro and Marc Maron and has performed at several festivals and prominent showcases across the country including Comcast’s “Look Who’s Laughing Now\,” Limestone Comedy Festival\, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival\, Sacramento Comedy Festival\, and The World Series of Comedy. \n\nLarry “Bubbles” Brown (host)\nLarry “Bubbles” Brown is a San Francisco based comedian and a favorite of the Throckmorton.
