II NO. 8\nFOR VIOLIN FOR CELLO & BASSOON\nADAGIO\, ALLEGRO\, SARABANDE (LARGO)\, ALLEGRO ASSAI \n\nABOUT THE MUSICIANS\nViolinist\, BENI SHINOHARA\, is a native of Nagoya\, Japan. Beni studied violin at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music\, where she earned a Master of Music degree. She also studied in Europe with Sandor Vegh before coming to the United States. Beni has been the Assistant Principal Second violin for the San Francisco Opera Orchestra since 1988 and Assistant Concertmaster in the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra since 1990. She also performs with many Bay Area chamber ensembles such as Marin Chamber Players\, Gold Coast Chamber Players\, and the Edgewood Trio. \nInternationally concertizing American cellist REBECCA RUST\, student of Margaret Rowell\, Bernard Greenhouse and M. Rostropovich and German bassoonist FRIEDRICH EDELMANN\, principal bassoonist of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under the principal conductors Sergiu Celibidache and James Levine are concertizing and recording regularly as cello-bassoon DUO and together with piano as a TRIO in Europe\, U.S.A. and Japan. They performed at the Imperial Palace of Japan in Tokyo in front of Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko and performed private music-making with Empress Michiko on the piano. In the summer of 2017\, they were participants in the international FORFEST Festival in the Czech Republic performing mostly music composed for them. In the fall 2017 a concert tour in Japan is planned\, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Japan. \nComposers who have written and dedicated compositions (Duos & Trios): Otmar Mácha & Jan Novák (Czech Republic)\, Harald Genzmer (Germany)\, Max Stern (Israel)\, Jan Koetsier (The Netherlands)\, George Peter Tingley (U.S.A.). Rebecca Rust plays a Master Cello by William Forster of 1791 which was formerly owned and played by Prince Charles. \nInternationally available CDs published by CENTAUR Records (Fall 2017)\, CAVALLI Records\, BAYER Records\, and NAXOS (Marco Polo)\, TUDOR. As part of our ongoing mission to use the transformative power of the arts to inspire and enrich our community\, we have opened our doors for the past two years\, every Wednesday at Noon\, and presented concerts performed by talented musicians that are free of charge to the public. These free noon performances offer listeners the opportunity to discover the beauty of music in an intimate accessible setting\, while providing the community with cultural enrichment and exposure to talented performers. \nConcerts are in a one-hour format and performances take place in the intimate Tivoli or Crescendo where both audience and musicians can sit in vibrant\, close proximity. Musicians often stay after the performance to informally speak about the program and their upcoming concerts. \n
