Beethoven – Piano Trio in D major\, Op. 70 No. 1\, “Ghost”\n*** \n\nABOUT THE MUSICIANS\n\nPatrick Galvin is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music prior to which he spent 2 years as a studying violin with Barbara Gorzynska in Vienna \, Austria. He made his solo debut at age 11 with the Oakland East Bay Symphony playing the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1. He was winner of the East Bay Young Artist Competition in 2000\, the Yehudi Menuhin/Helen Dowling award in 2002 and the Kensington Young Artist Competition in 2003. In April 2004 he was the soloist with the Kensington Symphony playing the Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto No 5. He has also performed at the Junior Bach Festival. In 2013 and 2015\, Patrick competed in the Johannes Brahms International Competition in Pörtschach\, Austria. When he is not performing\, Patrick teaches violin at a private school and out of his home in San Francisco. He also writes reviews for the online journal The San Francisco Classical Voice. In 2014\, Patrick was selected to be a fellow in the Rubin Institute for Music Criticism. During his time at the University of San Francisco\, he was selected to be a Davies Scholar. He is also a member of the folk band Hoxton Mob which performs regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently\, he has begun scoring radio stories for live performance. \nVenezuelan­ American cellist\, Edward Luengo\, is establishing himself as a captivating performer as a soloist and chamber musician. He began playing the cello at the age of six with Maria Antonieta Salas in his hometown Miami\, Florida\, then continued his studies at the New World School of the Arts High School where he studied with Aaron Merritt. Now 21\, Mr. Luengo is a third­year undergraduate at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance under the guidance of renowned pedagogue Jean­Michel Fonteneau. Competition receiving the Honorable Mention. He also attended the Killington Music Festival\, A former cellist of the Miami Symphony Orchestra\, Mr. Luengo has toured Ireland with the Greater Miami Youth Symphony Orchestra as soloist premiering American composer Thomas Sleeper’s Comhrá for cello and orchestra. He was a recipient of the first prize at the Coltman Chamber Music Competition and a finalist of the Classics Alive Young Artists Competition in Chamber Music with ensemble Trio Audace. Mr. Luengo has most recently placed second in the Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition performing William Walton’s Cello Concerto with the orchestra and has been selected as a semi­finalist for the 20th Annual Sphinx Orford Academy\, National Arts Centre Young Artists Program\, PyeongChang Music Festival\, as well as having participated in the 3rd DeCoda Skidmore Chamber Music Institute with Trio Audace as the Institute’s first Ensemble­in­Residence. Mr. Luengo has been fortunate to work with many distinguished and esteemed artists including Richard Aaron\, Natasha Brofsky\, Yegor Dyachkov\, Steven Isserlis\, Hans Jørgen Jensen\, Michael Kannen\, Yeesun Kim\, Melissa Kraut\, Laurence Lesser\, Brian Manker\, Johannes Moser\, Caroline Shaw\, Yizhak Schotten\, Wendy Warner\, Daniel Veis\, as well as internationally­acclaimed ensembles Borromeo Quartet\, Danish String Quartet\, Israeli Chamber Music Project\, Kronos Quartet\, New Orford String Quartet\, and the Takaćs String Quartet. Mr. Luengo has the privilege of performing on a cello by award­winning violinmaker Andrew Carruthers\, completed in 2016. \nBorn in South Korea\, Heemin Park began her studies in piano at the age of five. She won numerous competitions including the Beethoven Piano Competition of Korea sponsored by the Beethoven Association of Korea and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Piano Concerto Competition. She was also selected to perform in the Young Artist Concert at Youngsan Art Hall\, South Korea and performed with Borromeo String Quartet at SFCM. She received her B.M. from Seoul National University\, where she was awarded full scholarship from the Samsung Scholarship Foundation. Currently\, she is pursuing an M.M. at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Yoshikazu Nagai. \n\n\n WEDNESDAY NOON CONCERTS\n\nThe community is invited to our complimentary Wednesday Noon Concert series. As part of our ongoing mission to use the transformative power of the arts to inspire and enrich our community\, we have opened our doors for the past two years\, every Wednesday at Noon\, and presented concerts performed by talented musicians that are free of charge to the public. These free noon performances offer listeners the opportunity to discover the beauty of music in an intimate accessible setting\, while providing the community with cultural enrichment and exposure to talented performers. \nConcerts are in a one-hour format and performances take place in the intimate Tivoli or Crescendo where both audience and musicians can sit in vibrant\, close proximity. Musicians often stay after the performance to informally speak about the program and their upcoming concerts. \n
