Please join us for a reception for pioneer photographer Ed Ross and enjoy his 100th Birthday Celebration Photo Exhibit on Wednesday, September 2nd from 4-6pm.
A world-renowned entomologist and experienced anthropologist, Ed Ross has been a contributor to National Geographic Magazine and is a Curator Emeritus at the California Academy of Sciences. During his 100 years on the planet, Ed spent over 60 years traveling the world as a pioneer photographer, taking amazing close-up photos of insects of all kinds. His many years of in-depth studies of the insects known as “embiids” brought forth new knowledge of the subject as he discovered many new species.
Ed also developed a great passion for the study of people and cultures around the world. His remarkable work showing expressive faces from cultures all over the world will also be on display. His informative lectures over the years have shown his anthropologic knowledge while displaying many of these outstanding photographs.
