DjangoFest Mill Valley returns to the Throckmorton Theatre this Labor Day Weekend! The festival will feature four days of incredible concerts, workshops and parties, and culminates in the ultimate “djam” performance. This will mark the festival’s 14th year in Mill Valley, and it promises to, once again, bring together some of the world’s best and brightest musicians.
HENRY ACKER TRIO
Henry Acker is a fourteen-year-old gypsy jazz guitar prodigy. After playing for only four years, he has already shared the stage with jazz greats Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, Julian Lage, Andreas Oberg, Vinny Raniolo, Olli Soikkeli, Samson Schmitt, Mozes Rosenberg, Joscho Stephane and Jason Anick. He is the winner of the 2017 Djangofest North West Saga Award and a two-time winner of the Downbeat Magazine Student Award for jazz guitar soloist. He performs exhilarating gypsy jazz repertoire and jazz standards along with his father Victor Acker, Berklee alum and jazz guitarist, and his Uncle Dana Acker on double bass, also a Berklee Alum. Henry’s career is just getting started but with abilities far beyond his years, it won’t be long until he is at the forefront of the Gypsy Jazz music scene.
