CHICAGO Set in the 1920s and based on real-life murders and trials, Chicago follows wannabe vaudevillian star, Roxie Hart-and the famed double-murderess and nightclub performer Velma Kelly. Tensions come to a head as they vie for the spotlight– though instead of onstage, they’re mugging for the flashbulb of the newspaper reporters. Chicago is a dazzling and satirical look at fame, justice, and the media machine. With catchy, sexy music and timeless lyrics, Chicago is a funny, intelligent, and utterly engaging musical escapade!
ABOUT Our Throckmorton Youth Performers (TYP) offers musical theatre productions for youth ages 8-20 on the main stage, designed and directed by highly qualified theater arts professionals with an emphasis on exceptional professional quality. Students have the opportunity to audition for production roles both onstage and backstage including crew, stage managing, light board operator, and prop & costume support.
