Shawn Pelofsky-Oliveira
Shawn Pelofsky is one of those fearless female comics who refuses to be anyone but herself. This sassy female will blow you away with her physical comedy and high energy. If Joan Rivers and Bette Midler were to have a love child, then this would be your comic for hire. Shawn will take you on a wild ride with her outrageous impersonations and knowledge of pop culture. Her ability to nickname and work a crowd will have you in hysterics. At the age of 20, Shawn Pelofsky was performing sketches and improv with comedic giant, Will Ferrell. She then became a member of The ACME Comedy Theater. During her time at ACME, Shawn flourished in the field of stand-up comedy culminating with her current status as a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store. When she’s not touring or performing for our troops, Shawn performs weekly on their infamous Main Room stage. Adding to her many comedic accolades, Shawn has been featured in The Montreal “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival and in the all female hit comedy tours Pretty Funny Women, Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad and The Hot Tamales produced by Eva Longoria. She has opened up for greats such as Richard Lewis, Robert Klein and Bill Maher and written for comedic legend, Joan Rivers on Fashion Police.
Bernadette Luckett
Bernadette Luckett is originally from the SF Bay Area, but started her standup career in New York City after working as a professional model, a cookie packer, and a lab technician at a VD clinic. She performed at comedy clubs all over the US and appeared on numerous TV shows, then segued from standup into sitcom writing, and has worked on several shows including: Living Single; Sister, Sister; The Tracy Morgan Show; Girlfriends; and Romeo!. After a 17-year hiatus, Bernadette returned to standup funnier than ever. In addition to being a contributing essayist to the anthology NO KIDDING Bernadette worked as a Co-Producer on the documentary, “Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor,” which received a 2014 Television Academy Honors Award – for television programming that inspires, informs, motivates, and even has the power to change lives.
Dhaya Lakshminarayanan
Dhaya Lakshminarayanan is the 2016 winner of the Liz Carpenter Political Humor Award (previously awarded to Samantha Bee, Wanda Sykes and satirist/humorist Mark Russell) presented by the National Women’s Political Caucus. KQED named her one of the twenty “Women to Watch” a series celebrating women artists, creatives and makers in the San Francisco Bay Area who are pushing boundaries in 2016. Dhaya is also a TV host and storyteller. She hosted the premier year of the Emmy award-winning series High School Quiz Show on PBS’s WGBH. She is a frequent comedic storyteller on NPR’s Snap Judgment and has appeared live in Austin on The Risk podcast. She is currently the host of San Francisco’s monthly Moth StorySLAM after winning a Moth StorySLAM and competing in the GrandSLAM at the Castro Theater (capacity 1400). ON24 awarded her the grand prize for “Best Travel Disaster Story.”
G King
Comedian and Bay Area native, G King made his TV debut on July in Kevin Hart’s Comedy Central stand-up series “Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City.” After graduating college, King knew comedy was his calling and decided to pursue a career in standup. It wasn’t long before King became one of the hottest comedians on the Bay Area circuit performing in top comedy clubs around the nation. King has opened for acts including Charlie Murphy, DeRay Davis, Tony Roberts and Damon Wayans Jr.
Anthony K I’m proud to have filmed my one-hour DVD at the Gallo Center for the Arts in downtown Modesto titled “Thank You for Listening to Nothing.” The DVD is featured on Pandora, Spotify and Google Play. I’m the 2011 Modesto Area Music Association Award winner for Best Comedian. I was a top five finalist in the Big Sky Comedy Festival in Montana, which is one of the largest comedy festivals in the U.S. I am a regular at Laughs Unlimited in Sacramento, Tommy T’s clubs in Pleasanton and Rancho Cordova and the Punch Line comedy clubs in San Francisco and Sacramento. I recently won the ModestoView Clean Comedy Competition.
Robert Berry
Robert Berry has produced more than 30 comedy shows at Sacramento Comedy Spot, including The RetroCRUSH Variety Show, The Top 10 Podcast, and album recordings for Alfonso Portela, Stephen Ferris, and his own debut comedy album. Robert regularly hosts at the Comedy Spot, Punch Line, Laughs Unlimited, casinos, bar shows, and fundraising events. He’s opened for acts as diverse as political comedy legend Will Durst, to Sacramento punk icons, The Secretions. Robert has been part of the Sacramento entertainment scene for nearly 15 years. His offbeat style that goes from bizarre pop culture stories, to corny one liners, to screaming rants, always gets a crowd going.
GEOFF BOLT (Host)
Geoff Bolt is a comedian, writer and actor. A Bay Area original, Geoff is renowned as an inspired improviser in the world of sketch comedy. Geoff got his start in the comedy world as a founding member of the critically acclaimed National Theatre of the Deranged, and soon after debuted his stand-up comedy to rave reviews at San Francisco’s Other Cafe. He continues to perform regularly to dedicated fans at a wide variety of comedy clubs. He has appeared in many feature films was featured in HBO’s Young Comedian’s Special, Showtime’s Comedy Channel, A&E’s Evening at the Improv, and KQED’s Comedy Tonight. Geoff has appeared in several plays at the SF Fringe Festival and has done hundreds of voice- overs for radio, television, and video games. He appears regularly on NPR’s West Coast Live as half of the comedy team of Karl and Carl, who offer their unconventional “Tips on Travel”.
MICHAEL O’BRIEN (Host)
Michael O’Brien is an original member of the National Theatre of the Deranged, co-creator of “Tips on Travel” with Karl & Carl” and a master improviser whose credits include performances at The Moth, Porchlight SF, Marsh Theatre, Holy City Zoo and Throckmorton Theatre. Michael is also a teaching artist: Improv Open Workshop at Fort Mason Center, Voice One SF, Academy of Art University, San Francisco State University (guest instructor) and Stanford University (guest instructor).
