The Gold Coast Chamber Players have been leading the way as one of the nation’s first chamber music collectives since 1987. Performing first in Victorian mansions in the heart of the Alameda Gold Coast, GCCP continues to create this same intimacy in larger venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Winner of the Arts and Culture Award for Contra Costa County and Best East Bay Chamber Group, GCCP provides vibrant concert experiences with ongoing series in both Lafayette and Piedmont. Dedicated to quality, connection, and transformation, GCCP also provides engaging classroom experiences in public schools throughout Contra Costa County. Our mission is to foster greater connection and transformation through top-quality, thematic concert experiences with internationally renowned musicians. Featured at today’s performance are GCCP founder and violist Pamela Freund-Striplen, and two Italian musicians, cellist Luigi Piovano and violinist Grazia Raimondi. Luigi is Principal cellist of the Symphony Orchestra of National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome, and performs and conducts world-wide. His many recordings include Bach’s Goldberg Variations with Dmitry Sitkovetsky. Grazia, a Fulbright scholar and active performer throughout Italy and Japan, plays a 1783 Giuseppe Gagliano violin.
