Tommy Igoe is Mill Valley’s own Grammy Award winning drummer who created some of the most popular Big Band’s in the country. His “Really Big Band” is comprised of 14 of the Bay Area’s most iconic musicians who are current members of Santana, The Doobie Brothers, STeely Dan and Tower of Power.
Tommy has established himself as a consummate drummer across a variety of musical styles, from playing in jazz, rock, and pop bands to Broadway productions. Long recognized as one of the finest drummers in the world, Tommy was voted #1 Jazz Drummer in Modern Drummer’s 2014 Reader’s Poll. He has performed on three Grammy award-winning albums and written four popular drum set instruction manuals. The busy bicoastal stickman currently splits his time leading separate groups on the east and west coasts. His New York band, The Birdland Big Band, is the most popular weekly music event in the city for the last 9 years. His San Francisco aggregation – the Tommy Igoe Groove Conspiracy – is a 15-piece supergroup comprised of the Bay Area’s most accomplished jazz artists.
