MEET THE COMEDIANS

Allan Havey

Allan Havey is considered one of the best stand-ups working today and he is an accomplished actor, recently starring in eleven episodes of AMC’S highly acclaimed Mad Men as character Lou Avery. Allan recently guest-starred in Man in the High Castle on Amazon, and is featured in the 2016 Coen Brothers film, Hail Caesar! Allan’s other TV credits include 10 appearances on Late Night With David Letterman, as well as Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Up All Night, The Sarah Silverman Program, Men of a Certain Age and The Office. He also guest-starred on the Emmy Award winning show “Louie.” Allan’s standup has been represented at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, the Kilkenny Comedy Festival in Ireland, the Aspen Comedy Festival, Comic Relief IV and V, and the New York Comedy Festival. Rocky LaPorte

Rocky LaPorte’s appeal comes from his everyman, streetwise style of comedy. Delivering laughs in his trademark Brooklyn accent, he has become one of the most sought after comedians in the country, and he just recently appeared on on the season 8 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing! Rocky received 5th place out of 10 contestants. Rocky was the featured comic on Showtime‘s The Godfathers of Comedy, a special starring five of America’s most hilarious Italian-American comics. On the big screen, he has been seen in two Tim Allen movies – Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. Rocky traveled with Drew Carey to Iraq to entertain the troops and was seen on the Showtime special Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie. He has filmed his own Comedy Central Presents special and was voted the network’s second most popular comedian in a nationwide poll. He has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and appeared on A&E‘s Evening At The Improv and VH1‘s Stand-Up Spotlight, along with sitcom appearances on Cheers and his own NBC pilot called the Rocky LaPorte Show. Marc Yaffee

Marc is an award-winning comedian featured on the Showtime special, Goin’ Native: The American Indian Comedy Slam. Marc has also been seen on the PBS special, Crossing The Line, SiTV’s, The Latino Laugh Festival and Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen. Marc has been heard on Sirius XM Radio, Bob & Tom and NPR. Marc is a founding member of the Pow Wow Comedy Jam, who were honored as North American Indigenous Image Awards’ Comedians of the Year and the National Indian Gaming Association’s Entertainers of the Year. Marc has performed five times overseas for the troops in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He won the Ventura Comedy Festival’s Funniest Person Contest in 2012 and is a guest columnist for Indian Country Today Media Network. Jeff Applebaum

Jeff’s clean comedy examines his particular life experiences, which include being the only white kid on his Little League team in Queens and having a Chinese wife and raising children who call themselves “Jewnese,” because he says it sounds better than “Chine-ish.”Jeff made his national TV debut on CBS as a comedian on the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” He has also appeared on Comics Unleashed and Comedy.TV, Byron Allen’s nationally syndicated Entertainment Studios program, ABC-TV, America’s Got Talent on NBC and opened for and performed with comic legends Robert Klein, Mort Sahl, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Kevin Pollak, Elayne Boosler, Jimmy “JJ” Walker, and more. He’s also a frequent guest on KGO Radio, AM810 in San Francisco. Jeff was cast by Sandy Hackett, the late Buddy Hackett’s son, to play the principal role of Joey Bishop in the long-running musical tribute “The Rat Pack Is Back,” in San Francisco, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Sean Keane

Sean Keane is one of San Francisco’s top standup comedians. He’s a staple at comedy festival and clubs, appearing on bills with name-brand headliners such as Todd Barry, Kyle Kinane, Tig Notaro, and Twitter’s DadBoner. In San Francisco, Sean has won too many awards to count, including Iron Comic (3X) and the SF Bay Guardian’s Goldie. Every time Sean hits the stage, he delivers a head spinning, gut-bursting performance you wouldn’t want to miss.

 

 


Sal Calanni

Sal is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, hit the road and began doing stand up in San Francisco. He has crawled through the ranks and has appeared at clubs all over the country working with some great performers such as Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Greg Giraldo, Iliza Shlesinger, John Caparulo, Bret Ernst and many more. Sal recently worked with director Spike Lee for his film in NBA2K16. He was featured on NBC’s Trauma, appeared in numerous commercials, and has starred in and co-wrote the film, Lucifer’s Crewcut which includes such talent as Maria Bamford, Arj Barker, Jello Biafra, and GWAR. He is a part of the popular comedy sketch group Four in the Back, which has been featured on the Funny or Die homepage. He has performed at the Oddball Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, and the Bumbershoot Film Festival. His album Real Job, Real Paycheck has been played on SiriusXM and he has a popular weekly podcast available free on iTunes called Sal & Deezy vs Hollywood. Larry “Bubbles” Brown (host)

Larry “Bubbles” Brown is a San Francisco based comedian and a favorite of the Throckmorton. Larry tried stand up comedy in 1981 at the Holy City Zoo in SF and has stayed with it ever since. He has appeared on over 25 tv shows, including numerous appearances on David Letterman. He was also in the move “The Kiterunner.” Larry is a frequent opening act for Dana Carvey and Dave Attell.
