Join us and be inspired by the talented Nathan Bickart Trio. Nathan will present “Songs of the Tamalpais Foothills”, an evening of music written for and inspired by Mt. Tam and the communities built in its shadow. The trio features two Marin natives: Nathan Bickart (piano) and Owen Benjamin (bass), joined by the sensational Mike Mitchell on drums. The band premieres new music written just for this occasion: songs inspired by the Mountain that nourishes our human and ecological communites. Be the first to hear this brand new music – a medley of jazz, hip-hop, bluegrass and beyond!
ABOUT NATHAN BICKART
Nathan Bickart is a pianist, composer, and educator based in Berkeley, CA. Classically trained since age 6, Nathan began to play jazz in high school and has been heavily involved in the Bay Area jazz scene ever since. Nathan graduated from UC Berkeley, where he studied both Ecology and Music and learned from Bay Area piano greats Myra Melford, Peter Horvath, Gini Wilson, and Frank Martin. His music combines eclectic influences ranging from hip-hop to bluegrass, from Bill Evans to Robert Glasper
