Fresh from their triumphant, sold-out shows in Oslo, Norway, 3 FOR ALL returns to work their magic on the Throckmorton stage!

Rafe Chase, Stephen Kearin & Tim Orr – San Francisco’s hottest, critically acclaimed improv trio – creates a unique blend of intensely funny, and sometimes dramatic, completely improvised scenes and an improvised movie based on audience suggestions. It’s improv so good, you’ll swear it’s been scripted. “San Francisco’s finest long-form improv troupe…single-handedly restored my faith in improv comedy. DON’T MISS!” –Time Out New York. “KILLER!” –SF Weekly

MORE INFO…

In the summer of 1996, San Francisco improvisers RAFE CHASE, STEPHEN KEARIN and TIM ORR, who had first met in the late 80’s through the celebrated improv company Bay Area Theatresports, formed a small ensemble to pursue a distinctive brand of high-stakes improv. 3 FOR ALL performed for the first time as a group, 20 years ago at Venue 9, a small theatre in San Francisco. Since then, they have rocked improv stages all over the world.

3 FOR ALL is driven by the artistic principle that the work takes place “on a stage with no rules.”

In their performances, the improvisers hit the stage with no script, no preconceptions and no safety net. The three actors, along with the musical and lighting improvisers, work together to tell both short and full-length stories of all genres. Nothing is rehearsed, nothing discussed before or during shows, nothing held over or re-worked in future shows. Nothing but improv.

3 FOR ALL routinely plays to sold-out houses and rave audience reviews in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have enjoyed equal success in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Austin, Atlanta, Amsterdam and, most recently, Norway. They have worked together on two improvised feature films, Suckerfish and Security, and a completely improvised, unedited comedy CD.

The first half of their performance will consist of improvised short scenes which may or may not be related, and which may or may not be based on audience suggestions. The second half will feature a single full-length improvised story based on an audience suggestion.
