Into the Woods is a beloved musical retelling of the Grimm classics. Nominated for 10 Tony Awards, this is Sondheim and Lapine’s enchanting story as you’ve never seen it before!
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Amy Marie Haven, Director
Amy has a diverse theater background focusing on: directing, acting, and community building. She received her BA from UC Santa Cruz in 2007 where she studied Literature and Theatre. Based in the Bay Area, Amy Marie has directed for and acted with many award- winning local companies including: Cal Shakes, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, The Quixote Project, We Players, Alter Theater and Sleepwalkers Theatre (voted best theatre company of 2009- SF Weekly), Recently, she directed 23 Elephants’ The Unspeakable Act, a production awarded Best of Fringe 2016 and opened the world premiere of a new adaptation of The Oresteia in Oakland. Her international theatre experience includes: Theatre of Heart and Four Larks Theater in Melbourne, Australia, as well as youth street theatre in Tulum Mexico and educational program creation at San Geronimo Bilingual School, in Cofradia, Honduras. Amy Marie is a co-founder of Tomorrow Youth Repertory in Alameda, and has spent the last two years as a full- time faculty member with Oakland School for the Arts’ School of Theatre. She is thrilled to be joining the 142 Throckmorton community in a larger capacity and looks forward to the many artistic endeavors and adventures to come!
Carl Pantle, Musical Director
Carl is a vocal coach, Music Director, and singer who frequently works with San Francisco Opera, West Bay Opera, Opera San Jose and the Bay Area Summer Opera eatre Institute. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Merola Program at the San Francisco Opera Center. Carl studied voice and choral conducting at Brigham Young University and soon a er returned to the Bay Area to pursue vocal coaching and accompanying at the San Francisco Con- servatory of Music. Mr. Pantle has collaborated with some of the nest talent Broadway has to o er, including Daniel Reichard, Keala Settle, Julia Murney, Alysha Umphress, Laura Benanti, and Patti LuPone. Carl is excited to be back in the pit AND on stage as Daddy Warbucks.
Reba Gilbert, Movement Director
Rebecca “Reba” Gilbert is a Bay Area performer, choreographer, director, producer and instructor. She has 28 years of dance experience in a variety of styles including: ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Mills College in Oakland, Rebecca continued her training under many exceptional artists such as Mary Cochran (Taylor Company), Joe Brown (Mark Morris Company) and Molissa Fenley. As a performer she has worked with many companies including Izzy award winning, little seismic dance company under the direction of Katie Faulkner and Ahdanco whom she has danced with over the past decade. In 2013 Rebecca was awarded a residency at The Garage in San Francisco where she created and produced a full- length work titled After August and continues to collaborate with local professional companies on new work. Rebecca has been producing, directing and choreographing for youth theatre companies around the Bay Area for the past 5 years. She has worked with Alameda based non profit organization, Tomorrow Youth Repertory and assisted in developing their successful mainstage program as well as teaching, directing and choreographing their after school shows. She is a new mother and continues to perform, direct, choreograph and produce throughout the Bay Area and is very excited to be joining the Throckmorton family as the Education Manager.
