Artist Statement Jim Labioda
My paintings are from past and present, near and far. Painted in oil on canvas, some are frommemory, a photograph or plein air. Did I choose these moments in time or did they choose me? I cannot say…I know that the time spent with these places creates in me the sense of curiosity and wonder that have shaped my paintings. My hope is to convey this to the viewer. “If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.” Edward Hopper
