A special show that honors artists of color with laughter, love, pride and solidarity! Featuring a fabulous line-up of talented comedians from around the Bay Area, including Diane Amos, Al Clethen, Reggie Steele, Aundré the Wonderwoman and Chey Bell. The event celebrates Black History Month and underscores the powerful contributions of African Americans to our culture and history.
DIANE AMOS is a San Francisco-based actress, improv artist, and comedian who is known as The Pine Sol Lady for having starred in their national commercials for over 20 years. She has appeared in numerous films including Nine Months, Copycat, Angels in the Outfield, EDTV, Twisted, and Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. Diane was a semi-finalist in Star Search, has been on A&E’s Evening at The Improv, Lifetime’s Girls’ Night Out, and Comedy Central’s Women Aloud. She has also been a winner on the game shows: Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. She was raised in San Francisco by two lesbian mothers and attended Washington High School in the Richmond District, where took an improvisational comedy class…and the rest is history.
AUNDRE THE WONDERWOMAN was described by Steve Harvey at his Comedy House in Dallas as a “new comic with a funny way of saying things.” Since then, she’s garnered a reputation as a solid talent dishing up content-based comedy ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. A keen observer of human behavior, she’ll have you laughing at everything from disability to the politics of the day. Her credits include The Funniest Woman in Half Moon Bay, Oakland’s Funniest Comic on the Strip and Winner of the Inaugural Russian River Comedy Competition. She was a semi-finalist in the 2005 San Francisco International Comedy Competition and in 2008 received the Stand-Up For Justice Award for her work against the death penalty.
CHEY BELL is a hilarious, high-energy performer who’s comedy mirrors together life experiences and self-discovery. Touching on everything from family, coworkers, drugs, sexuality and misspelled tattoos, Chey Bell’s stage presence is engaging, silly and fearless (just like her). Chey has performed at The Comedy Store, Laff Factory, Punch Line, NY Comedy Club, Tommy T’s and more. She has also featured for comedian Rachele Feinstein, R&B artist Eric Bellinger and has worked with Judah Friedlander and Fazon Love.
AL CLETHEN has appeared on numerous TV networks and programs including Showtime, A&E, Comedy Central, MTV, and a starring role in the HBO’s Robert Townsend special, “Partners in Crime.” Al has worked with many comedy legends including the great Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, and Drew Carey. He has also worked with Will Smith, Tina Turner, Chaka Kahn and Gloria Estefan.
REGGIE STEELE is a Bay Area native, and an actor and comedian. He has been performing standup for nearly two decades and is a staple in the Bay Area comedy scene as well as a local audience favorite. Reggie Steele’s TV appearances include Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, Comedy.TV and Nickelodeon’ Nickmom. When he’s not touring the country with his jokes, performing for the troops overseas, or cracking up Northern California audiences, Reggie is an actor whose credits include a recurring role on NBC’s Trauma, a role in the film Love on the Line and Nowhere Girl and a starring role in the feature length film, Hey Monster Hands off My City. More recently, Reggie can be seen in the Netflix original series, 13 Reasons Why.
