“Linda Hill has a rag-doll face and the manner of an ingenuous Martha Raye or Carol Burnett as she dissects contemporary life and love.   Goofy and warmly engaging, she is a skillful parodist of female body language and fashion and has found a rich reservoir of fun in the romance novels and women’s magazines.”  New York Times

We are proud to present Linda Hill & the Lucky Fellers, a fabulous night of comedy and music including the newest creative works!

Linda Hill, first made a name for herself during the Comedy Boom of the 80s in the San Francisco Bay Area both as a stand up comedy headliner and in improvisational comedy as a member of such groups as Spaghetti Jam, Femprov and The National Theater of the Deranged.

Upon moving to NYC, she hosted the weekly No Shame performance series at the Public Theater and became an artist in residence at Home for Contemporary Theater and Art, performing several solo works including Hope in Kansas, Scream Louder and most recently Big City Hick.  As the Brooklyn Country Music Scene began to thrive she created a new character, Lindy Loo, who became the Hillbilly Hostess of choice, leading to her producing her own Country Cuzins shows, which led to the formation of her own band, The Lucky Fellers.

“Lindy Loo is an homage to the late great Miss Minnie Pearl, who first brought me to appear on Nashville Now as her discovery,”  Hill explained. “I was so lucky that she became a great friend and mentor to me.”

Becoming a singer/songwriter in her own right was the next logical evolution and her songs have been recorded by artists Marti Brom, Monica (Li’l Mo) Passin and Arty Hill.  Her shows feature not only her songs but also stand up and country stories of growing up in rural Kansas with no running water or indoor plumbing.

Now it makes me laugh to think it took moving to the Big Apple for me to truly claim my country roots,” Hill confesses.  “Suddenly on the NYC&W scene I had all this extra credibility because I’m a REAL Hillbilly!”

This evening will reunite her with her first musical director, Joshua Raoul Brody and some of the best musicians in the Bay Area and some surprise guests as well.
