Forty years ago Oakland’s Linda Tillery released her self-titled album featuring many pioneering women musicians and tonight she is bringing together many of the members of that all-star band, to celebrate the anniversary! Don’t miss this powerhouse all female reunion concert. Joining Tillery for the Womanly Way Reunion Tour is Mary Watkins, Colleen Stewart, Diane Lindsay, Vicki Randle, Maria Martinez, Linda Taylor and Tammi Brown.

The movement of these pioneer women musicians – coming back to speak out!…..there is a lot to say since we started, as women of color and diverse cultures, as a serious band… 40 years ago…We toured the country and spread the word … The words of who we are…. Time now more than ever to use music to make our point of survival and value.  Still Humble and the most talented musicians living still with a strong message Unity!

The shimmering voice of Oakland’s Linda Tillery has powered many of the Bay Area’s most popular bands over the past four decades. A central figure in the emerging women’s music movement in the 1970s and 80s, Linda was also a founding member of Bobby McFerrin’s vocal ensemble Voicestra. She currently leads the Cultural Heritage Choir, performing African American roots music.
