Specialty Prop Design: The Addams Family Musical
Help create the magic of a show in this creative, hands on, skill building class! In this class, students will design and build big prop pieces for Throckmorton Theatre’s fall production of The Addams Family Musical. This includes a moving monster (under the bed), stretching machine and Dancing Moon, amongst many other ghoulish and fantastical pieces. Share in the delight of being part of this fabulous production while honing your skills in design, building and problem solving. Led by local Prop and Puppet Master, Annie Stannis Cooper, this class will be super active and loads of fun!

Instructor Bio
Annie has been building puppets since she was a child in San Diego County. There, she was raised in an active theatre community where kids were encouraged to participate in every aspect of production, from choreography to set design. Even though her grown-up jobs (first in the nonprofit sector with special needs children, and now as a freelance writer) take up lots of time, she continues studying and making puppets and costumes, and especially enjoys the challenge of using scraps and household objects in her creations. Now, she gets to share that fun with her husband and two little boys, who are only recently beginning to object to her ban on store-bought Halloween costumes. Annie is thrilled to be joining Throckmorton Theatre, and to be bringing together two of her greatest joys: kids and prop design!
