Sunday Sessions Kimrea’s Pro Showcase will feature the talented accordionist Ron Borelli who joins us along with the masterful musicianship of Joe Lococo on guitar, Russ Whitehead on bass, and Robin Roth on drums as well as Kimrea!

Join us for a spirited and musically uplifting afternoon in our wonderfully acoustic Tivoli room. No cover – all ages welcome.

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN

Ron Borelli, a San Francisco native and son of well-­‐known bandleader, Al Borelli, began playing the accordion at age seven. His first professional engagements began at age 13 playing for many Italian parties. Ron has performed in a wide variety of musical settings, including internationally. He has appeared with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, the Berkeley Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, and Diablo Ballet, and was the accordionist for the Three Tenors in their 1999 Bay Area concert. He has worked with noted composer Stephen Swartz in his production of My Antonia at Theatre Works. From 2001 to 2009, Ron instructed and performed at the Las Vegas International Accordion Convention. In 2010, he was honored to perform with the Art Van Damme Quintet at his memorial service. In 2011 Ron appeared on the TV series Trauma playing accordion for a wedding scene. January 2015 he performed the accordion part of the Godfather movie with San Francisco Symphony and in April with SF Opera production of Two Women. In addition to performing with many high-­‐powered orchestras, Ron performs for private, corporate, and public events. For 15 years he performed for actor Robin Williams at his family house parties. He is well versed in jazz, opera, and American standards, Italian and French styles of music. He is a featured artist on many CD releases. Ron and his quintet perform monthly at the Doubletree Hotel in Burlingame featuring the music of Art Van Damme.

ABOUT KIMREA’S PRO SHOWCASE

For these Sunday Sessions we invite some of the Bay Area’s unsung working musicians to showcase their talent.  These musicians form the backbone of the Bay Area music scene and are established Bay Area performers, session players, sidemen and undiscovered talent!  Come for some fabulous music and discover real talent!

Kimrea, a prolifically active songwriter and performing musician, taps the talent for these Sunday Sessions, as well as the supporting musicians. She and her band continue to play regularly in the Bay Area and can be found every Monday Night (For the Last 14 years and counting) performing at the Historic No Name Bar in Sausalito, California.

There is an incredible wealth of talent who make their home right here in the Bay Area. Our Sunday Sessions invite performers in to share their talents and our community in to enjoy and be inspired!

We pay a small stipend to performers, donations to support these events are gratefully accepted. 

The Throckmorton is dedicated to the inclusion of all members of our diverse community; every member is entitled to be exposed to inspiring, thought-provoking, multicultural events.
