The jingle bells are rockin’ again this holiday season!  Welcome the Coverlettes who sing, dance and dress in the great tradition of 1960’s girl groups and perform some of pop music’s greatest hits and holiday classics, with a few unexpected musical detours in between. Three of the Bay Area’s finest vocalists and a rockin’ band set our stage aglow with holiday spirits and nostalgic good cheer. This show is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit and really whomp your wig!

INTRODUCING THE COVERLETTES:

Katie Guthorn (Bella Duvet; Vocals) started singing in her first cover band, Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra (later Big Bang Beat) in 1983, and kept at it for 25 years! From 1992 to 2002, Katie starred in A Karen Carpenter Christmas in San Francisco and Seattle, for which she earned a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical. She currently sings at Farley’s in San Francisco with the Soul Delights, also featuring her husband, guitarist Terry Haggerty. Katie recently released a CD called “Why Not Smile?” Produced and arranged by Tim Haggerty, featuring Terry Haggerty on guitar, and Aaron Haggerty on drums.

Carol Bozzio Littleton (Ella Duvet; Vocals) is currently a member Soul, Rock Dance band, Big Bang Beat! As a singer/songwriter in her original band, she performed on MTV and won on the television show Star Search in 1985. She was part of the all-girl group Modern Rocketry, which topped the Billboard dance charts. She has sung back up vocals with the Bud E. Luv Orchestra, Super Diamond, and was a principal singer, actor and dancer for many production companies performing in corporate comedy sketches, commercials, and voice overs. Carol was a member and soloist with The Lighthouse Singers and the gospel mass choir GMWA.

Darby Gould (Stella Duvet; Vocals) has been performing for over 30 years. In 1992, she was invited to join Jefferson Starship the Next Generation, replacing Grace Slick as the lead singer; she appears on their most recent recording, “Jefferson’s Tree of Liberty,” released in September 2008. Additional credits include a featured role in the popular stage production Tony & Tina’s Wedding, and her voice can be heard in the Sims 2 Nightlife computer game. She continues to perform with various bands throughout the Bay Area.

Tony Macaroni Lufrano (Rick Tickler; Keyboards) is a much-in-demand sideman for some of the Bay Area’s finest Rock, Blues and R&B artists. He earned his bona fides ‘back in the day’ on coast to coast tours with The Whispers( highlighted with shows at The Apollo Theatre). Since then Tony has gigged and recorded with a calvacade of stars including Boz Scaggs, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis and The News, Elvin Bishop, Maria Muldaur, Robben Ford, Taj Mahal,Tommy Castro, Bill Champlin,Steve Miller, Joe Satriani, Eddie Money, Booker T and many more! In 2014 Tony was on tour with Frank Bey and Anthony Paule, performing at music festivals in Switzerland, Italy, Canada and the U.S.

Vince Littleton (Ray Wray; Drums) is currently a member of Super Diamond and teaches drum lessons at Bananas Music. He has recorded and toured internationally with Merl Saunders & the Rainforest Band, The Mermen, Don Walser, Tim Hockenberry, Big Bang Beat and a long list of other musicians (playing many styles of music.) He can be heard on soundtracks on Tales from the Crypt, Nash Bridges, Joe Bob Briggs at the Drive-In, and video games by Sega and Electronic Arts. His ambient/world CD “Hall of Sound” is available on CD Baby.

Terry Haggerty(Riff Noodleman; Guitar) is a legendary guitarist from The Sons of Champlin and joins his wife Katie in this wild romp. He has fronted a number of bands over the years, played in Chaka Khan’s jazz band in the 1990s, and has three independent CDs and additional digital downloads available at CD Baby.

Alex Baum(Rudy Tuesday; Bass) is a S.F. Bay Area Bassist/composer/producer/multi instrumentalist that has performed all over from Osaka to Orvieto and everywhere in between. Playing both acoustic upright and electric bass guitar. He has played bass for Johnny Nocturne Band and is present on all 4 of their Rounder / Bullseye discs. Also helped produce & record their Blue Bucket discs “Blues Volume” & “Good To The Damn Bone”, and has performed at the Umbria jazz & Monterey jazz festivals with them. He has also toured extensively as a charter member of Dan Hicks & the Acoustic Warriors; documented on Private Music’s “Shootin’ Straight” & Surf Dog CD /DVD release “Dan Hicks & Hot Licks”60th Birthday Concert & CNN! Also, with ground breaking world fusion band Murasaki Ensemble.”Magenta”&”Birds & Drums” Plays in many styles of music, has recorded / played with a long list of artists.
