Award winning comedian, actor and writer Scott Capurro, known for his work on several TV programs, including The Wright Stuff, 8 Out of 10 Cats and The Truth About Gay Animals, comes to the Throckmorton! In this hilarious, provocative new show, Scott explores solutions to life that actually make living more difficult…like marriage, yoga and touristing. Scott will definitely tread on the thin ice of controversy, but sends you home with a lot to laugh about. Buckle up!

“Stand-up in the very best possible sense – deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious.” – San Francisco Weekly

Capurro is a veteran of our TV screens. A diverse performer, his talents were also incorporated into various films such as Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where he breathlessly wore a body stocking and Mrs. Doubtfire, where he effortlessly played a homosexual. He is a regular guest on Sarah and Vinnie, Alice Radio 97.3FM and he can be heard in The Andy Warhol Diaries (BBC Radio 4) as Andy Warhol.

If you thought comics like Ricky Gervais pushed boundaries then nothing will prepare you for Scott Capurro. Having won the coveted Perrier award in 1994, the San Franciscan comic has gone from strength to strength while refusing to sell out, making each show more uncompromising than the last. He is, in my opinion, the bravest and funniest comedian on the circuit.’  – GQ Magazine

“Capurro doesn’t play gently. He goes for the jugular of any topic he touches on. Islam and homophobia bear the brunt of his onslaught here, but he is genuinely unafraid to make anything funny. This is truly daring and dark comedy, yet still there is the promise of a knob gag lurking around every corner.” – Graeme Connelly, Chortle

Jim McVeigh is a comedian based in San Francisco. Jim’s comedy stems from feeling like an alien in most parts of life. His act is vulnerable and silly, as he tries to process the world happening at him.
