Throckmorton Theatre would like to invite you to join the Throckmorton Chorus for their annual Spring Concert, a celebratory evening of enriching choral music. Throckmorton Chorus celebrates the art of choral music and the pursuit of choral excellence in repertoire and performance. The chorus is directed by Tim Silva and accompanied by pianist Allegra Chapman.
Tonight’s concert features music from Composers: Morten Lauridsen, Sergei Rachmaninov, Eric Tuan plus music from: Dear Evan Hansen, Threepenny Opera and In The Heights.
Please join us after the concert for a complimentary champagne reception and celebration with the choral members.
The Throckmorton Chorus is a Throckmorton Theatre program that was inspired by Bay Area master accompanist, teacher and composer Joe Bloom. We wanted to share the art of choral music and offer an educational process that focused on the pursuit of choral excellence in repertoire and performance. We launched in January 2014 and today the chorus is composed of about 30 singers from all ages and walks of life who share a love of music and a desire to learn and grow in collaboration with others. Each season the repertoire includes a wide variety of styles allowing members to expand and deepen their skills and understanding of this rich music. The quality and artistry of the chorus continues to grow each season by leaps and bounds.
Rehearsals are held on Monday nights and each season culminates in a public concert at the theatre. The group considers other opportunities to perform and contribute to the thriving artistic environment around us. Membership is by audition and subject to availability in each voice section. Auditions for new members are held as necessary in February and September. Returning members re-audition each September before the Fall season.
