163978_479188247636_526062636_5954572_7071570_n_400x400Kirk McHenry was born and raised in Oakland, CA and blends all of his experiences together into a story-telling brand of comedy that has been likened to Bill Cosby with a Richard Pryor twist. From entertaining troops overseas to being featured on BET’s ComicView, BET’s One Mic Stand, and Jamie Foxx Laffapalooza, Kirk is well on his way to becoming a household name. Kirk has opened for comedic stars such as Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Gary Owen, Charlie Murphy, Tommy Davidson and Eddie Griffin. We’re thrilled to welcome Kirk back to the Throckmorton with more of his dynamic side-splitting comedy.

Sean McBride   Born in the Mid West, but raised in Western New England, it’s no surprise that Sean McBride is now one of the fastest rising comics to come out of Southern California. A well traveled man indeed, but that’s part of what helps Sean relate to people no matter where he’s performing.  After quitting what could have been a lucrative career working for the NFL Network, the Comedy Gods recognized Sean’s ultimate sacrifice, and graced him with a breakout performance in the film, National Lampoon’s “Dirty Jokes: The Movie”, starring “The Unknown Comic” Murray Langston, and currently airing on SHOWTIME. Sean then hit the road as the opening act for the writer and director of the now cult hit film, legendary headlining comedian Vic Dunlop (“The Richard Pryor Show”, “Make Me Laugh”), and has been climbing the stand up ranks ever since. Sean is quickly becoming a fan favorite all over the country. With hip, clever writing and a boyish charm, it’s no surprise that people leave Sean’s shows feeling like he’s been living next door to them their whole lives.

Shanti Charan’s bubbly personality and contagious smile lure in audiences and her comedic abilities keep them laughing. She is a Bay Area favorite and a regular at every local club including both San Francisco and Sacramento Punch Line, Cobb’s, Rooster T Feathers and The Improv. Shanti has had the opportunity to work with talented people such as; Mad Tv’s Bobby Lee, SNL’s Sasheer Zamata, The Daily Show’s Ronny Chieng, along with Rob Delaney, Nate Bargatze, Dan Cummins, Pablo Francisco, Tom Rhodes and Fortune Feimster. Charan was recently named San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best Comedian” in their Annual “Best of SF”, 2016 edition. SF Weekly awarded Shanti “Best Stand Up on the Way Up”, stating Charan’s writing, “is clever and confident beyond her years.”

Jammin Jay Lamont is not just a comedian; he is a multi-talented entertainer. Known to many as the “The Human IPOD,” Jay has performed on major concert and comedy stages with performers like The Gap Band, The O’Jays, Anita Baker, Ledisi, and Jamie Foxx to name a few. He also opened for Mary J. Blige in 13 cities on her Libration Concert tour. Jay adapts to any type of audience and delivers a one-of-a-kind show night after night. He is a clean upscale entertainer that mixes a dash of comedy with a sprinkle of impressions and a hand full of music.
