MEET THE COMEDIANS

Myq Kaplan

Myq Kaplan is a 2010 Last Comic Standing Finalist and has appeared on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, the Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central Presents, and all the other places he’s been. You can listen to Myq’s podcast, Hang Out With Me, on the Keith and The Girl network. His debut CD, Vegan Mind Meld, was one of iTunes’ top ten best-selling comedy albums in 2010, followed by Meat Robot in 2013 and his one-hour Netflix special Small Dork and Handsome in 2014. The Comedians magazine calls him “a comedy machine, in the best possible way. the way that some machines vend soda or prevent other machines from killing future revolutionaries – that’s how Myq Kaplan does comedy: relentlessly, methodically, unblinkingly.”

Steven Pearl

His high-energy comedy act is both outrageous and hysterically original. Born in Far Rockaway, New York, and raised on Long Island, Steven Pearl has been performing stand-up comedy professionally since 1979. He began his stand-up career in such prestigious NYC comedy clubs as “Catch A Rising Star” and “The Improv.” Steven has appearaed on numerous TV shows, including “An Evening at the Improv” and Caroline’s Comedy Hour. Some of his many credits include writing for and working with such comedic legends as Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Jim Carrey, Fobin Williams, and Rodney Dangerfield. Steven tours extensively clubs, colleges, and festivals all across the U.S. and around the world.

Johnny Steele (host)

Johnny Steele is a veteran comedian, some-time talk show host, writer, humorist, political satirist, acclaimed actor and all-around loud mouth commentator. He’s the former host of several radio and TV shows including The Live 105 Morning Show, THE SHOW on KRON 4/Bay TV, The War On Error Radio Hour on Green 960. Johnny is a past winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and has performed comedy across the US, Canada, and overseas for 30 years. Johnny has been teaching comedy for 15 years and is currently wrapping up his book, 50 Quick Comedy Tips. He has written for corporate CEOs, Grammy winning musicians, and Academy Award winning actors.

Clara Bijl

Born in Paris, France, Clara moved to New York City (she now resides in San Francisco) to begin a career in stand-up comedy. Performing all around the US and Europe, she became a prolific writer of cutting, witty, internationally flavored comedy. Clara was a semifinalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition, she performed in Holland’s “The Comedy Factory TV Show,” the New York Underground Comedy Festival, the Lausanne Comedy Festival, the Detroit International Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, the Montreaux Comedy Festival and was a writer for the hit Swiss TV show, “Le Petit Silvant Illustré.”

Sean McBride

Sean McBride provides a fresh, personable style and material that everyone can relate to…after all, he was born in the Mid West, raised in Western New England, and now resides in Venice Beach, California. After quitting a job for the NFL Network, Sean hit the road to pursue stand-up comedy. He’s been climbing the stand up ranks ever since and is quickly becoming a fan favorite all over the country. In addition to the NFL Network, he has appeared on Showtime and Hulu. With hip, clever writing and a boyish charm, it’s no surprise that people leave Sean’s shows feeling like he’s been living next door to them their whole lives.

Phil Griffiths

As far as mid-life crisis go, Phil Griffiths’ wife stacks his career in stand up comedy as better than a drug addiction but worse than him having a mistress. With his dry deadpan humor, Phil performs all over the Bay Area and shares his slightly off observations on fatherhood. Phil has opened for Jermaine Fowler, Brad Williams and Myq Kaplan. Most recently Phil performed in the 2017 San Francisco Sketchfest and was a top ten finalist in the 2016 San Francisco Comedy Competition. He has also performed in the San Diego, Sacramento, Chico and Santa Cruz Comedy Festivals.
