MEET THE COMEDIANS

Brian Scolaro

Brooklyn born Brian Scolaro is an actor and stand-up comedian. He got his start at the The Comedy Cellar in NYC, and he is most known for his appearances on “CONAN”, his half hour Comedy Central special “COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS: BRIAN SCOLARO”, as Doug on TBS’s “SULLIVAN AND SON”, and as Stuart on FOX’s “STACKED”. Brian has made numerous TV appearances including “DEXTER”, “MAD MEN”, “BONES”, “CASTLE” and “GREY’S ANATOMY.” He has gone on to share his original and yet old school style of stand up on “CONAN”, “THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON”, “GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE”, “LATE NITE WITH CONAN O’BRIEN”, COMEDY CENTRAL’S “LIVE AT GOTHAM”, “COMICS UNLEASHED ” and finally his very own half hour special “COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS: BRIAN SCOLARO” which still airs multiple times a year and is one of their popular downloads on Comedy Central’s iTunes page. Karen Rontowski

Karen Rontowski’s fast-paced, quirky and charmingly optimistic comedy has been featured in clubs, TV, radio, and at corporate events all around the world. Her stand-up showcases endearing, self-effacing and intelligent characters that catch you by surprise every time. Karen uniquely blends comedy with her experience as a Paranormal Investigator, Tarot and reiki master. Karen has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Sirius Satellite Radio, Comics Unleashed, Comedy.com, Live at Gotham and Comedy Central. She has opened for show biz legends including Bob Hope, Ray Charles, David Brenner and the Monkees. Karent is a comedy writer for “Haunted Magazine” and is a regular on the Bob and Tom Radio Show. Tommy Savitt aka Tommy Lama

Tommy Savitt is a 15-year comedy veteran who began in his hometown of New York City. After developing his “Hey Tommy” character, he was featured on the Bob and Tom Radio Show, Blue Collar Radio and performed around the world for the troops. Along the way he’s won the prestigious Seattle Comedy Competition and best comedian at the Boston Comedy Festival, Ventura Comedy Festival, and the LA Comedy Awards. Tommy has also appeared on National Lampoon’s Man Up Stand Up and in commericals for Adidas, Monster.com and Lowe’s. His new stage persona, the Tommy Lama, is an international hit at comedy clubs and festivals around the globe. Tommy currently has a residency at the LA Comedy Club in Las Vegas. Richard Chassler

No newcomer to the world of stand-up comedy, Richard brings many years of road touring experience to the stage. Richard’s sets are a “quirky” mix of true-life experiences, a healthy dose of observational humor and a lot of improvisation. His performances have been described as a cross between a rollercoaster and a Grateful Dead concert, you’ll never see the same show twice. Richard has appeared on MTV, VH1 and Comedy Central in addition to various TV and film acting roles. He has worked with Richard Pryor, Rita Rudner, Sam Kinison, Bobcat Goldthwait and Jeff Ross to name a few and spent four years touring with one of his closest friends and cult comedy legend, the late Mitch Hedberg. The Whistleaires

The Whistleaires is the West Coast’s premier whistling comedy duo. Mark “Toots” Romyn and “Whistlin’ Phil” Worman have been making people laugh in the San Francisco Bay Area since the late 1980’s. Mark is a comedian, actor and playwright and Phil is a comedian, filmmaker, writer and builder. The Whistleaires act is as much about performance as it is a satisfying performance in itself.

 


Michael O’Brien (host)

Michael O’Brien is an original member of the National Theatre of the Deranged, co-creator of “’Tips on Travel’ with Karl & Carl” and a master improviser whose credits include performances at The Moth, Porchlight SF, Marsh Theatre, Holy City Zoo and Throckmorton Theatre. Michael is also a teaching artist: Improv Open Workshop at Fort Mason Center, Voice One SF, Academy of Art University, San Francisco State University (guest instructor) and Stanford University (guest instructor).


Geoff Bolt (host)

Geoff Bolt is a comedian, writer and actor. A Bay Area original, Geoff is renowned as an inspired improviser in the world of sketch comedy. Geoff got his start in the comedy world as a founding member of the critically acclaimed National Theatre of the Deranged, and soon after debuted his stand-up comedy to rave reviews at San Francisco’s Other Cafe. He continues to perform regularly to dedicated fans at a wide variety of comedy clubs. He has appeared in many feature films was featured in HBO’s Young Comedian’s Special, Showtime’s Comedy Channel, A&E’s Evening at the Improv, and KQED’s Comedy Tonight. Geoff has appeared in several plays at the SF Fringe Festival and has done hundreds of voice- overs for radio, television, and video games. He appears regularly on NPR’s West Coast Live as half of the comedy team of Karl and Carl, who offer their unconventional “Tips on Travel”.
