Tim Lee
Tim wasn’t supposed to be a comedian. A biologist by training, he graduated magna cum laude from UC San Diego with honors in biology. He went on to complete his PhD at UC Davis. He spent years developing simulation and analytical models of population dynamics before he discovered that this bored him to tears. When he tried comedy for the first time the tears stopped. Murray Valeriano
Murray Valeriano is a brilliant comedian, writer, and human sponge. This Tennessee native and preacher’s son found his comedy calling in sunny California and soon began a successful writing career. Murray has toured the country performing in clubs and theaters, either headlining or opening for some of comedy’s heavy hitters, Kevin Pollack, Christopher Titus, Brad Garret and the late, Robert Schimmel. Murray has been seen on Comedy Central, NBC and FUELTV. You can hear him every Monday co-hosting “Off the Cuff” with Bill Engvall and Gary Brightwell on Sirius/XM channel 97. As an award winning writer, Murray has written for the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Bill Engvall’s Here’s Your Sign Awards and Ridiculousness to name a few. He has also written for other comedians such as Conan O’Brian, Steve Carell and Dennis Miller.Murray Valeriano is a captivating person who possesses a remarkable wealth of pop culture knowledge and experience and it shines through on his popular “Roadstories” podcast. Geoff Bolt (co-host)
Geoff Bolt is a comedian, writer and actor. A Bay Area original, Geoff is renowned as an inspired improviser in the world of sketch comedy. Geoff got his start in the comedy world as a founding member of the critically acclaimed National Theatre of the Deranged, and soon after debuted his stand-up comedy to rave reviews at San Francisco’s Other Cafe. He continues to perform regularly to dedicated fans at a wide variety of comedy clubs. He has appeared in many feature films was featured in HBO’s Young Comedian’s Special, Showtime’s Comedy Channel, A&E’s Evening at the Improv, and KQED’s Comedy Tonight. Geoff has appeared in several plays at the SF Fringe Festival and has done hundreds of voice- overs for radio, television, and video games. He appears regularly on NPR’s West Coast Live as half of the comedy team of Karl and Carl, who offer their unconventional “Tips on Travel”.
Clara Bijl
Born in Paris, France, Clara moved to New York City (she now resides in San Francisco) to begin a career in stand-up comedy. Performing all around the US and Europe, she became a prolific writer of cutting, witty, internationally flavored comedy. Clara was a semifinalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition, she performed in Holland’s “The Comedy Factory TV Show,” the New York Underground Comedy Festival, the Lausanne Comedy Festival, the Detroit International Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, the Montreaux Comedy Festival and was a writer for the hit Swiss TV show, “Le Petit Silvant Illustré.”
Mark Smalls
Mark Smalls could be one of the funniest comics around. Some people have even called him the best 27-year-old white male comic hailing from the Bay Area that still lives with his mother, that’s named Mark. In addition to the funnies he has also been a top competitor in Nickelodeon Guts and Legends of the Hidden Temple. Sliver snakes, bro. Mark’s material ranges from adult themed humor to themed adult humor and even touches on today’s society, of adult themes. He’s not one to miss.
David Nihill
Leaving Dublin, Ireland, where he was born and raised until the age of 22, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit the sobriety of it. A bestselling author, David has been featured in Inc, NPR, Huffington Post, Forbes, Lifehacker and the Irish Times, and was recently part of the Irish Kings of Comedy Tour, SF Sketchfest, the Ventura Comedy Festival, Ukiah Comedy Alley, and the Kansas City Irish Festival. David has performed standup comedy at leading clubs including Cobbs, the Comedy Store, the Improv, the Punchline, and the Upright Citizens Brigade, even though he strongly denies being a comedian and is well aware most people don’t understand his accent. As a storyteller, he’s won multiple NPR’s Moth Storyslam competitions and he finished runner up in Moth Grandslam.
Michael O’Brien (co-host)
Michael O’Brien is an original member of the National Theatre of the Deranged, co-creator of “’Tips on Travel’ with Karl & Carl” and a master improviser whose credits include performances at The Moth, Porchlight SF, Marsh Theatre, Holy City Zoo and Throckmorton Theatre. Michael is also a teaching artist: Improv Open Workshop at Fort Mason Center, Voice One SF, Academy of Art University, San Francisco State University (guest instructor) and Stanford University (guest instructor).
