THE COMEDIANS
Sheng Wang
Over a decade into his standup career, Sheng Wang has amassed a list of credits that includes Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, and his own Comedy Central Presentsspecial. Wang, who came up via San Francisco’s comedy scene, currently resides in New York, where he plays both alt rooms and clubs. Wang is one of several comedians, alongside Janeane Garofalo, Eugene Mirman, and Michael Che, featured in A Night at Whiplash, a Splitsider-produced standup concert movie based on Leo Allen’s long-running live standup showcase Whiplash.
Steven Briggs
An LA based comedian and actor, Steven Briggs entertains audiences with his high-energy unique style of beatboxing fused with personal storytelling. Steven has performed in clubs and theaters across nineteen US states and seven different countries. In addition to touring outside of the US, Briggs has hosted film festivals and more recently performed for the troops in Addis Ababa, Djibouti, Kuwait and Bahrain. His TV appearances include local networks and ESPN.
Michael Cella
Michael Cella is a standup comedian and comedy/sports writer with a uniquely storied past that informs his unconventional yet polished creative voice. His work spans from performances at comedy clubs across the nation to 140 character laugh riots from his 62k+ organic Twitter following. He is an Iraq war veteran turned Prius driving vegetarian that believes in the power of thought provoking and off-kilter comedy, and is currently available for writing gigs, festival, casino and club bookings in the US and abroad. Mike has enjoyed working with comedic icons including Tom Segura, Brian Posehn and Emo philips, and has 30 – 40 minutes of stage content that he injects with audience interaction and improvised riffing to keep his set fresh and exciting at every show.
Wanjiko Eke
Wanjiko Eke is a stand up comedian from Austin, who started comedy in LA and currently lives in Brooklyn. She regularly performs all over the country and has been featured comedy festivals like the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Memphis Comedy Festival and the Cinder Block Comedy Festival. She considers herself at her best while eating pizza.
Johnny Steele
Johnny Steele is a veteran comedian, some-time talk show host, writer, humorist, political satirist, acclaimed actor and all-around loud mouth commentator. He’s the former host of several radio and TV shows including The Live 105 Morning Show, THE SHOW on KRON 4/Bay TV, The War On Error Radio Hour on Green 960. Johnny is a past winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and has performed comedy across the US, Canada, and overseas for 30 years. Johnny has been teaching comedy for 15 years and is currently wrapping up his book, 50 Quick Comedy Tips. He has written for corporate CEOs, Grammy winning musicians, and Academy Award winning actors.
Richard Sarvate
Richard Sarvate is a San Francisco based comedian with an alternative sense of humor. He is Indian, though his last name was butchered during an immigration debacle. He is a programmer by day and also a programmer by night. But he also finds time to talk about weird stuff on stages. His act consists of quirky observations, impressions, and surreal one-man sketches.
Michael Meehan
Michael Meehan found his niche in the San Francisco comedy scene in the 80’s. He performs comedy both as a solo act and with his two brothers in the comedy trio, The Meehan Brothers. He has appeared on numerous television shows including The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Last Comic Standing (NBC), The Dennis Miller Show (CBS) and Stand Up Spotlight (VH1), A&E and Comedy Central. Michael has performed alongside some of the top comedians to date including Robin Williams, Bob Goldthwait and Will Durst.
