THE COMEDIANS

Will Durst

The New York Times has called Will Durst, “quite possibly the best political comedian working in the country today.” He writes a nationally syndicated humor column and is a frequent contributor on CNN, MSNBC & Fox News. He’s performed for 3 presidents, a Mayor’s Convention and a Governors Conference. In 2016, “Elect to Laugh” ran for 41 weeks in San Francisco and currently his new one- man show “Durst Case Scenario,” in touring theaters across the country and world. He is also one of the titular characters in the documentary “3 Still Standing” which can be seen on Amazon Prime. His 800+ television appearances include: HBO, The Today Show, Letterman, Inside Politics, GMA, Jon Stewart Show, Showtime, Comedy Central, CBS Morning News and many more. Durst has told jokes in 16 countries, is author of 4 books, 5 CDs and has been fired by the San Francisco Examiner twice, PBS three times and he once ran for Mayor of San Francisco, spending $1200, pulling 2% of the vote, meaning on a dollar per vote basis, he is mayor of San Francisco. His heroes remain the same as when he was 12… Thomas Jefferson and Bugs Bunny. And despite blistering reproach he continues to thwart convention by squeezing ketchup onto his bratwurst.

Arj Barker

Comedian and actor Arj Barker has appeared on all the late-night shows including “The David Letterman Show,” “The Tonight Show” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brian.” He’s starred in multiple one-hour Comedy Central specials and he was a semi-finalist on the fifth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Arj regularly appears on the international festival circuit performing to sold-out audiences across the UK, Australia and New Zealand and beyond. In 2007, he landed a recurring supporting role in HBO’s Emmy-nominated sitcom, “Flight of the Conchords.” Arj currently resides in Australia, where he has been named Australia’s favorite US comedian…and we can understand why!

Dhaya Lakshminarayanan

Dhaya Lakshminarayanan is the 2016 winner of the Liz Carpenter Political Humor Award (previously awarded to Samantha Bee, Wanda Sykes and satirist/humorist Mark Russell) presented by the National Women’s Political Caucus. KQED named her one of the twenty “Women to Watch” a series celebrating women artists, creatives and makers in the San Francisco Bay Area who are pushing boundaries in 2016. Dhaya is also a TV host and storyteller. She hosted the premier year of the Emmy award-winning series High School Quiz Show on PBS’s WGBH. DNA

DNA’s unique brand of comedy skewers America with a psychedelic double twist. The creator of several comedy festivals and a web series, DNA has opened up for Moshe Kasher, Janeane Garofalo, Myq Kaplan and most of the Bay Area. A BOD member of Comedy Day in Golden Gate Park, DNA has not left his activism behind and uses comedy to bridge the gap between generations, genders, religions and species. A true intergalactic performer. From his time as Timothy Leary’s chauffeur, to his opening act for Ralph Nader (as heard on NPR’s Snap Judgement http://snapjudgment.org/nudists-nader ) to his creation of one of the first crossover rap/country songs, DNA is poised to storm the castle.

Josh Cocks

Josh Cocks (yes, that’s his real name) began his career in Bloomington, IN where he was a regular feature at The Comedy Attic before making the move to Chicago. He’s a regular at several midwest clubs such as Go Bananas in Cincinnati, The Laughing Derby in Louisville, Morty’s Comedy Joint in Indianapolis, and The Laugh Factory in Chicago. He has been featured at The Limestone Comedy Festival, Arch City Comedy Festival, Laughing Derby Comedy Festival and Cincinnati’s BrewHAHA Comedy Festival. Most importantly Josh likes you and says nice things about you when you’re not around.
