This week we give thanks to the arts. Thank you performers and artists, for sharing your craft with us and creating an outlet for us to be challenged. Thank you for encouraging dialogue, for bridging communities, and allowing us to form true connections. Above all else, thank you for reminding us how healing laughter can be. Stephen Furey
Stephen Furey is able to connect with his audience using his life experiences and well written one-liners to create comedy gold. Performing at clubs and casinos all over the country, he has opened for acts such as Bobby Slayton, Kyle Kinane, Tom Rhodes, Natasha Leggero, Godfrey, Ian Bagg, Robin Williams, Theo Von, Bobby Lee, Anthony Jeselnik, Ron White, Eddie Pepitone, Aries Spears, and Pablo Francisco, just to name a few (okay, a lot). He won second place in the 2014 & 2015 Sacramento Comedy Competition, which featured more than 75 comics from all over the country. With an ever-growing fan base, Stephen is quickly gaining momentum as one of America’s brightest and funniest up-and-coming comedians.
Claude Stuart
From packing comedy venues across the globe to regular television appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show,” and “Last Comic Standing,” Claude Stuart has come a long way from his down home southern roots. Claude’s explosive, in-your-face, rapid-fire, madman stage style is truly an exhilarating assault on the senses and has evoked comparisons to golden era physical comedians such as Steve Martin, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. Claude has appeared in numerous feature films and television, including a recent spot starring with Jay Leno on the wildly popular “Undercover Jay” skit segment of “The Tonight Show,” “That 70’s Show,” “Scrubs,” “Comics Unleashed,” “Entertainers,” “The Best Damn Sports Period!,” “Oblivious!,” “Talk Soup” and as a regular on “The Bob and Tom Show.” He frequently performs at the world famous Hollywood Improv and is currently on tour, headlining comedy clubs, colleges and military tours for our troops; nationwide and internationally.
Shanti Charan
Shanti Charan’s bubbly personality and contagious smile lure in audiences and her comedic abilities keeps them laughing. She is a fast-rising fresh face in the Bay Area comedy scene. Her ability to formulate quick connections makes it easy for her to communicate with diverse audiences. She won 1st place in the 2011 Rooster T Feather’s Comedy Competition and participated in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition where she advanced to the semi-finals. Charan was awarded SF Weekly’s 2012 Best Stand-Up on the Way Up. SF Weekly says Charan’s writing “is clever and confident beyond her years.”
Doug Ferrari
Doug Ferrari is a California comedy icon, performing over 5,000 stand up shows including national headlining appearances at major clubs. Doug won first place in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 1984. He has opened for everyone from Bob Hope to Robin Williams and has performed alongside big names including Rodney Dangerfield, Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, and Patton Oswalt. Doug has numerous television and film credits including Showtime, MTV, Fox, Comedy Central, A Fine Romance ABC, and Comedy Express A+E.
Mike Menendez
Mike Menendez is a Los Angeles based comedian from Miami. He performs regularly in Los Angeles at the clubs and independent shows. He won the 2017 Hoboken Comedy Festival. He is also a regular on Tyler the Creator’s Golf Media.
Johnny Steele
Johnny Steele is a veteran comedian, some-time talk show host, writer, humorist, political satirist, acclaimed actor and all-around loud mouth commentator. He’s the former host of several radio and TV shows including The Live 105 Morning Show, THE SHOW on KRON 4/Bay TV, The War On Error Radio Hour on Green 960. Johnny is a past winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and has performed comedy across the US, Canada, and overseas for 30 years. Johnny has been teaching comedy for 15 years and is currently wrapping up his book, 50 Quick Comedy Tips. He has written for corporate CEOs, Grammy winning musicians, and Academy Award winning actors.
Adam Pearlstein
Adam Pearlstein is a stand up comedian based out of Oakland, CA. Adam’s unique brand of contrarian hater comedy has taken divided audiences by storm. Adam has performed in theaters, clubs, colleges, festivals and street corners all over the country and have worked with comedy giants such as, Dana Carvey, David Alan Grier and Ron Funches and is the undefeated champion of the SF Comedy Rap Battle Competition.
