THE LINEUP
Arj Barker
Comedian and actor Arj Barker has appeared on all the late-night shows including “The David Letterman Show,” “The Tonight Show” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brian.” He’s starred in multiple one-hour Comedy Central specials and he was a semi-finalist on the fifth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Arj regularly appears on the international festival circuit performing to sold-out audiences across the UK, Australia and New Zealand and beyond. In 2007, he landed a recurring supporting role in HBO’s Emmy-nominated sitcom, “Flight of the Conchords.” Arj currently resides in Australia, where he has been named Australia’s favorite US comedian…and we can understand why!
Bob Dubac
Hailed by his peers as one of the smartest comedians in the country, Bob Dubac raises the bar of stand-up comedy high above the mediocrity of television. If you are tired of the not-so-special comedy specials you see on cable then don’t miss Bob Dubac. He beats the hornet’s nest of hype and spin using the big stick of knowledge with a voice that sounds like it came from the inside of your own frustrated head. On stage Dubac buckles us up for a fast-paced joy ride over the pot-holed highways of cultural hypocrisy. Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity he crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media – all in an effort to expose the idiocracy that surrounds us. For example, “idiocracy” isn’t even a word. How dumb is that? Bob is usually busy performing his award winning solo shows THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? and THE BOOK OF MORON in theaters all over the world. So it’s a rare treat to have him here.
G King
Comedian and Bay Area native, G King made his TV debut on July in Kevin Hart’s Comedy Central stand-up series “Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City.” After graduating college, King knew comedy was his calling and decided to pursue a career in standup. It wasn’t long before King became one of the hottest comedians on the Bay Area circuit performing in top comedy clubs around the nation. King has opened for acts including Charlie Murphy, DeRay Davis, Tony Roberts and Damon Wayans Jr.
Juan Carlos
Growing up in the toughest neighborhood in Sonoma County, Juan Carlos has been blessed with a different perspective of living in Northern California’s wine country . His observations, comedy style, and stage energy are always driven by a one simple belief: while on stage, you must always seek truth.
“Comedy is amazing when the performer leaves the audience with a hint of enlightenment, and, when on the drive back home, they find themselves smiling yet another time” J.C.
Jake Adams
Jake Adams is a comedian living in Los Angeles originally from Martha’s Vineyard. He attended the Professional Golfers Career College (which is a real thing). There he realized that having to pleat your pants for work was not as cool as once imagined. Jake then attended “real college” where he studied film and began his career as a stand up. Jake’s family is in the industry as well, his mom was a stand up in New York and his dad is a film director. Since moving to Los Angeles Jake has worked on the Todd Glass Show, and was in the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. You can see Jake touring the country or at his monthly show at the Hollywood Improv.
Sue Alfieri
Sue grew up in a suburb of New York City in a strict Italian-Catholic family. Armed with more than her share of black clothing, meatball recipes, and quick-witted sarcastic responses, during a quarter-life crisis, she moved to San Francisco. After more than a decade in the Bay Area, Sue’s laid-back attitude is just a beard for the silently, but deadly sarcasm she still delivers without warning. She’s a mom of two, married to a feminist man who cooks, cleans, and grocery shops. Sue’s fear of missing out causes her to have a full schedule. She will try anything once, but comedy seems to have stuck. She works all over the Bay Area and has opened for Steve Hytner, and will open for Don Friesen this January.
