Tom Rhodes
Tom Rhodes is a world traveling comedy veteran. The New York Times describes him as “A mostly natural intellect with a knack for reporting the harsh realities of life with a dark and absurdly optimistic cynicism.” Tom has built a career that not only includes stand-up specials, a sitcom, a travel show, a late night talk show, numerous live CD’s & DVD’s, his critically acclaimed podcast Tom Rhodes Radio, as well as being a travel writer for the Huffington Post. Tom moved to SF when he was 22 and quickly became a regular at the comedy giants of the city: The Punchline, The Improv, & Cobbs. He’s opened for James Brown and the Everly Brothers and has appeared on shows like An Evening at The Improv, Comic Strip Live, Caroline’s Comedy Hour, and MTV’s Comedy Half Hour. Fresh from releasing his new hour special Light Sweet Crude on Netflix , Rhodes has had a long raucous career covering every corner of the globe. His latest TV recording on Comedy Central Comedy Underground with Dave Attell aired in 2014. In 2012 Rhodes was featured in the Showtime stand-up series, Live From Amsterdam (2012). His three half hour stand-up specials include two Comedy Central Presents… (2009 & 2001) and Raw, recorded in Stockholm for Swedish television (2009). He had his own sitcom television show on NBC called Mr. Rhodes (1996 – 1997), his own Late Night Talk show on Dutch television, Kevin Masters starring Tom Rhodes (2002 – 2003), and traveled the world as a TV presenter on the Dutch travel program, Yorin Travel (2004).
Al Ducharme
Al Ducharme is a comedy powerhouse deemed “very funny” by Simon Cowell and “one of my favorite comedians” by Heidi Klum on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Al headlines all of the major comedy clubs around the nation and we’re thrilled to have him back at the Throckmorton. His style is one of a kind and his hilarious, relatable characters will draw you in and leave you wanting more. Al’s TV credits include Gotham Comedy Live, Comics Unleashed, NBC’s Today Show, and hosting Mission Organization on HGTV to name a few. His corporate clients include Apple, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch. Al has received rave reviews internationally throughout Europe, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Africa & China and he has been a featured performer at the Montreal, Beirut and Boston Comedy Festivals. Bernadette Pauley
Award winning comedian and event host listed as “The Best of New York City Live Comedy” in the New York Post. Bernadette Pauley is one of the most highly demanded special event comedian/hosts on the circuit. Her TV comedy and hosting credits include GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE, COMICS UNLEASHED, COMEDY CENTRAL, ETC. Bernadette’s jokes have been published by The Huffington Post and The New York Post. A regular performer at both Los Angeles and NYC All Headliner comedy clubs she was recently featured in The Comic Strip Live documentary “Eat, Drink, Laugh” along with Chris Rock, Louis CK and Jerry Seinfeld.
Kirk McHenry (Host)
Kirk was born and raised in Oakland, CA and blends all of his experiences together into a story-telling brand of comedy that has been likened to Bill Cosby with a Richard Pryor twist.From entertaining troops overseas to being featured on BET’s ComicView, BET’s One Mic Stand, and Jamie Foxx Laffapalooza, Kirk is well on his way to becoming a household name. Kirk has opened for comedic stars such as Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Gary Owen, Charlie Murphy, Tommy Davidson and Eddie Griffin. We’re thrilled to welcome Kirk back to the Throckmorton with more of his dynamic side-splitting comedy.
Mikey Walz
Mikey Walz is a standup comic, writer and musician out of San Francisco, CA. The son of a Jingle writing ex-folk singer father and a late-blooming lesbian psychologist mother, he developed a strange, quizzical, and occasionally musical brand of thinking. His style oscillates between playful and theatrical, skating between silly and mildly troubled. Mikey has performed on some of the best stages the Bay Area has to offer; such as Cobb’s, Punchline, Doc’s Lab, Tommy-T’s, Cynic Cave, and many others. He frequently hits the road as well, performing across the country at venues such as The World Famous Comedy Store (L.A. and San Diego), The Blue Room Theater in Chico CA, The House of Blues in New Orleans, and the Oberon Theater and Laugh Boston in Boston MA. He’s also performed at SF Sketchfest The Chico Comedy Festival as well as the Savage Henry Comedy Festival in Humboldt CA. Currently Mikey produces Bay Area shows “TGIF’d” and “Chillarious” at Savvy Rest in Berkeley.
Jay Rich
Jay Rich hails from the Bay Area and has created his own brand merging his first love of poetry with his natural born talent as a comedian. Jay Rich attacks every venue with a refreshing flow and charisma that has been missing on today’s comedy circuit. He was the host of the 2014 Bay Area Black Music awards where he was nominated and awarded the title of Best Male Spoken Word Artist. Jay represented the Bay Area at The Nephew Tommy Uncontrolled Comedy Show in Oakland, catching the attention of some of the industry’s top players. He has shared stages with some of the top performers in the industry, including Paul Mooney, Dick Gregory, Tommy Davidson, KC & JoJo, and Sisqo.
