ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

Solenn Séguillon, Violin

French violinist Solenn Séguillon performs nationally and internationally as a soloist and chamber music musician. She has appeared as soloist with several symphony orchestras including the American Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bear Valley Music Festival Orchestra, the Knox-Galesburg Symphony and the Southeast Iowa Symphony. Solenn’ s recent performances highlights include the Beethoven Triple Concerto with One Found Sound Chamber Orchestra in San Francisco and with the Venice Symphony in Florida under the baton of Maestro Imre Palló, as well as a chamber music performance with the Hurd ensemble at The Kennedy Center last July.

With the Aleron Trio, Solenn was invited to the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme at Aldeburgh Music in England, to the Banff Chamber Music Residency in Canada, and performed on three acclaimed tours in France. The trio was mentored by members of the Alexander String Quartet and worked the Juilliard String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, Pavel Haas Quartet, Tokyo Quartet, St. Lawrence Quartet, and with pianists Robert McDonald, Mack McCray, Paul Hersh, and Klára Würtz.

Solenn’s past performances have brought her to many prestigious venues including the Davies Symphony Hall and Herbst Theater in San Francisco, the Stanford University’s Bing Concert Hall, the Green Music Center in Sonoma, the Banff Centre’s Rolston Recital Hall in Canada, the Britten Studio at Aldeburgh Music in the UK, the Shanghai Oriental Center and the Theatre de Mogador in Paris.

Ian Scarfe, Piano

Ian Scarfe enjoys a busy career as a piano soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician. An enthusiastic performer, he averages over one-hundred performances each year, which take him from his home in San Francisco, California, across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

He is the founder and director of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, an organization that has presented hundreds of concerts, educational programs, and performances in schools across California since 2011. It sponsors seasonal retreats for musicians in the scenic Trinity Alps of Northern California, presents free concert series for the surrounding communities in the rural counties between Arcata and Redding, and has visited dozens of schools and summer camps in an effort to bring more music to youth and families.

An eloquent and articulate speaker, Ian is a frequent lecturer on music, and gives talks on music appreciation and history at universities. adult education programs, and retirement communities.

He has been described in the press as “a masterful keyboard talent” (Performing Arts Monterey Bay), and even while still a student in San Francisco it was said that “his work in chamber music has been prodigious” (Examiner.com). Other reviewers have praised Scarfe’s “marvelous sense of balance and authority” and “well-honed artistry and thoughtful expressiveness” (San Francisco Classical Voice).

He currently works at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Master’s Degree in 2008 and an Artist’s Certificate in 2010. More information about his career and his upcoming schedule can be found at www.ianscarfe.com, or at www.TrinityalpsCMF.org

WEDNESDAY NOON CONCERTS

The community is invited to our complimentary Fall Season of Wednesday Noon Concerts. As part of our ongoing mission to use the transformative power of the arts to inspire and enrich our community, we have opened our doors for the past two years, every Wednesday at Noon, and presented concerts performed by talented musicians that are free of charge to the public. These free noon performances offer listeners the opportunity to discover the beauty of music in an intimate accessible setting, while providing the community with cultural enrichment and exposure to talented performers.

Concerts are in a one-hour format and most performances take place in the intimate Tivoli where both audience and musicians can sit in vibrant, close proximity. Musicians often stay after the performance to informally speak about the program and their upcoming concerts.
