Justin Rivera


Justin Rivera is a nationally recognized, professional comedian and magician, who has appeared on many television shows and clubs nationwide and overseas. He competed on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” hosted by Nick Cannon and was named a judges’ favorite by Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, and Sharon Osbourne. Justin has appeared on “Fast Track to Fame” produced by FOX, on Comedy Central with Dave Attell and Adam Carolla produced by Adam Sandler’s production company Happy Madison, and a special appearance and acting on Discovery Communications and Playboy TV’s syndicated shows. Justin is an entertainer and magic consultant for the grammy-nominated band OneRepublic customizing and creating magic art for the popular music video “Love Runs Out” which received many awards. He is known in the comedy circuit as the “Comedian’s Magician.” He is known for his ability to participate with his audience with an engaging, smart, and witty manner. Justin’s performances are entertaining and a guaranteed hit. A seasoned performer, Justin has performed before esteemed public venues such as the Improv, Comedy Store, and Laugh Factory. Due to his established reputation and career, Rivera has been in demand from such corporations such as Google, international cruises on Princess Cruise Corp. including sold out performances with standing room only for his one-man, 1,500 seat, theater show. His comedic contributions have been showcased within large corporate gatherings at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES). Recently, Justin also consulted for McDonald’s using magic to help brainstorm ideas for new marketing strategies. Justin has donated his time for international military shows for the Navy, Army, Marines, and Air Force.

Dhaya Lakshminarayanan


Dhaya Lakshminarayanan is the 2016 winner of the Liz Carpenter Political Humor Award (previously awarded to Samantha Bee, Wanda Sykes and satirist/humorist Mark Russell) presented by the National Women’s Political Caucus. KQED named her one of the twenty “Women to Watch” a series celebrating women artists, creatives and makers in the San Francisco Bay Area who are pushing boundaries in 2016. Dhaya is also a TV host and storyteller. She hosted the premier year of the Emmy award-winning series High School Quiz Show on PBS’s WGBH. She is a frequent comedic storyteller on NPR’s Snap Judgment and has appeared live in Austin on The Risk podcast. She is currently the host of San Francisco’s monthly Moth StorySLAM after winning a Moth StorySLAM and competing in the GrandSLAM at the Castro Theater (capacity 1400). ON24 awarded her the grand prize for “Best Travel Disaster Story.”

Brent Pella


Brent Pella is a comedian based out of Los Angeles, CA. His comedy sketches and music videos have gained millions of views around the world and have been featured on Funny or Die, College Humor, BroBible, The Chive, and Worldstar HipHop. Brent grew up in Davis, California, played basketball in college, and currently tours colleges and clubs around the country as a stand-up comedian. He’s performed at multiple NACA showcases and in 2016 was featured on MTV’s Greatest Party Stories Ever. A graduate of both UCB and The Groundlings improv programs, Brent recently performed as a member of the iO Sunday Sketch Show in LA, and continues to write/produce his own weekly comedy videos for release every Tuesday on his YouTube channel.

Sean Keane


Sean Keane is one of San Francisco’s top standup comedians. He’s a staple at comedy festival and clubs, appearing on bills with name-brand headliners such as Todd Barry, Kyle Kinane, Tig Notaro, and Twitter’s DadBoner. In San Francisco, Sean has won too many awards to count, including Iron Comic (3X) and the SF Bay Guardian’s Goldie. Every time Sean hits the stage, he delivers a head spinning, gut-bursting performance you wouldn’t want to miss.

Doug Ferrari


Doug Ferrari is a California comedy icon, performing over 5,000 stand up shows including national headlining appearances at major clubs. Doug won first place in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 1984. He has opened for everyone from Bob Hope to Robin Williams and has performed alongside big names including Rodney Dangerfield, Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, and Patton Oswalt. Doug has numerous television and film credits including Showtime, MTV, Fox, Comedy Central, A Fine Romance ABC, and Comedy Express A+E.

Tobe Hixx


Tobe Hixx began his Comedy career in San Diego, California where he was voted San Diego’s Funniest Man! During his comedic journey, Tobe has done thousands of shows across the world.  He has been seen in sketches on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Doctors (Man Cave Segment), Operation Repo, and 1000 Ways to Die! Tobe has performed for the troops in over 15 different countries. The LA Times writes, “Tobe Hixx is a true comedian.” His versatility and crowd work has audiences erupting with laughter.

Kirk McHenry


Kirk was born and raised in Oakland, CA and blends all of his experiences together into a story-telling brand of comedy that has been likened to Bill Cosby with a Richard Pryor twist.From entertaining troops overseas to being featured on BET’s ComicView, BET’s One Mic Stand, and Jamie Foxx Laffapalooza, Kirk is well on his way to becoming a household name. Kirk has opened for comedic stars such as Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Gary Owen, Charlie Murphy, Tommy Davidson and Eddie Griffin. We’re thrilled to welcome Kirk back to the Throckmorton with more of his dynamic side-splitting comedy.
